Regardless to what you call yourself based on your eating habits, (life-)style, etc., we all admit (or at least should admit) that we have some degree of discriminating taste. Can you think of at least one fruit and vegetable that you absolutely dislike and could live without consuming again? For me the vegetable would be artichoke and the two fruits would be a toss up between cheremoya and quince. Any others ?
I love artichoke hearts. I would not miss lima beans if I never ate another one. For a fruit, quince I guess is one, or maybe pomegranates, I don't hate them, just they don't do anything for me. Lychee fruit too. And a meat.........liver.......yecch.
Artichoke hearts are the bomb! Of all the vegetables, I absolutely cannot stand okra! I can't eat more than two pieces without having a gag reflex and feeling sick. It's just all hairy-velvety on the outside and nasty ooze-ish on the inside, *gag*. I'm also not a fan of avocados. I can stand to eat them, but ... I'd really rather not, unless they're wrapped up into sushi.
mmm artichokes are delicious.. one thing i cannot eat is paw paw,..the smell makes me feel ill. however i buy it for juicing and its nice mixed with other flavours i just try not to sniff it! i dont think there are any vegies i dont like, although im sure there are some ive never tried!
I'm not fond of green peppers. Other than that, there are fruits and vegetables I am picky about: tomatoes and onions, I like cooked, but not raw; I only like grapefruit that is local and from a very sweet tree.
brussel sprout.. YUCKY!!! i don't care much for olives or raisin either, but it they're mixed in with a dish i'll just eat them.
I probably could go without bellpepper (make me reeeeaaally gasy and smelly baaaaaaaaaaaah. but they do taste good....) and also avocado in a way. I only eat them mixed with a loooooot of other things.
fruit would be grapefruit. i can't understand how people eat that stuff, it tastes like vomit. (actual vomit.) vegetable would be zuccini. especially if it's cooked. i wont even go into detail about what i think that stuff tastes like... hehe
Carrots & Raw tomatoes (love them in any cooked form though) As a rule I can't stand raw vegetables or cooked fruit.
I found that a lot of foods that I thought I hated had merely been prepared badly when I tried them. I was an adult before I learned that asparagus is not supposed to be mush laced with tough, stringy fibers. And, green beans don't automatically turn olive green when they hit water... My mom wasn't exactly a world-class cook.
the only veggie/ fruit I've not developed the ability to eat at least some of in some form is avocado. I have the sushi folks leave it off and add cuckes. Hikky, try okra at an Indian place cooked dry: they scrape the outside and dry cook gets rid of that gadawful slime. Surprised me, because i loathed okra through my childhood. Cauliflower only in Indian, too. Green bells really should be left to ripen. It's a wierd bitter I cannot seem to find a mix for. I still try, but so far...nothing. I don't like tinned/canned veggies. I'd rather have frozen, but fresh is best. veggie/fruit I wish I could eat raw/fresh: tomatoes. I can have half a slice before I get very itchy. Sun dried works, so I do get those for snacks.
Someone said olives earlier which... i guess i never really thought of as a vegetable, i guess i never really thought of them at all except to think "geez i hate these." and fruit i have to say mango or blueberry...really all berries except for the strawberry.
Celery, cauliflower, peaches, broccoli, brussel sprouts.. Pretty much all canned fruits and vegetables too, except mushrooms and olives.
green peppers, olives (i like the red peppers though) papaya, rasberries (unless the rasberries are in a smoothie) I also don't like canned fruit except manderin oranges...mmmmm
i really hate olives...blech...hmm as for fruits..i dont htnk ive ever met a fruit i dont like..im actually about to go eat a banana
