Yeah, that could be. Anyway, I doubt that the Velvets will really catch on with mainstream music fans. I just can't see a bunch of silly high school kids actually listening to White Light/White Heat. They may download The Velvet Underground & Nico to seem cool or something, but that's about it.
lmfao... could you imagine some of those wannabe gangsters blasting "Sister Ray" from their headphones?
It's disgusting...just for this t-shirt ...we found the reason for a revolution... They just run after the hype...those stupid star want just one thing...be in fashion... They don't know the history of what they buy..."everybody got it ...so i want it..." that's their neanderthal reflection I was talking to a friend about all those elepants that i see in Geneva (and everywhere)...it make turn my stomach ... One night i drank too much beer and i criticise two plastic girls with those false dirty pants...they wear what is the oposite of themselves..., they just follow fashion and follow other girls who wear the same things like cows in a field. They just want to buy & wear what they will never be...psychedelic ladies that are a trouble for order... those plastic people who wear elepants needs to try an LSD trip and maybe they deserve just a little more respect... I know that it's science fiction for Motorcycle club rebels ...but without dreams ...maybe life will lack a little of adventurious scenario.
It's a Warhol print tee...I don't see what's wrong with that...I guess some people would associate that with the Velvets, but I mean...everyone's entitled to the artist they enjoy. Now, I doubt she has any idea of the awesome-ity of Warhol (or the Velvet Underground for that matter) outside of the soup can, but I mean...you never know. Aww...That'd be creepy. An Olsen twin a hardcore VU fan.
What are you saying? That shirt is not only a Warhol print, it was created as the cover to The Velvet Underground & Nico. How can it not be associated with the Velvet Underground? ()
Definately.. wasn't Andy Warhol the one who brought Nico and Lou Reed into contact with eachother? Like in The Factory days...
Yes. He directed The Velvet Underground & Nico - A Symphony of Sound, produced their debut album, and created the famous cover art for the album. Warhol kind of took the band under his wing for a while.
Well, okay. She probably isn't familiar with that little piece of information. So, someone who has no knowledge of the Velvet Underground being associated with Warhol would see that simply as a Warhol print tee. It doesn't have the words "The Velvet Underground & Nico" on it, so of course most people are gonna think it's simply a Warhol painting.
Yes, but chances are, if you know anything about Warhol, you know that he was involved with the Velvet Underground. So, she either knows about the Velvet Underground, or (most likely) some fashion designer picked the shirt out for her, and she wore it. In reality, she probably doesn't know anything about Warhol or the Velvet Underground.
the velvet underground will always be an underground band. Their music is just too experimental and weird. Andy Warhol's, on the other hand, is totally commercialised. She wears that t-shirt just because she likes that andy warhol painting. Maybe she doesn't even know who the velvet underground are. i remember that thread.
Yea... every remember the band Nelson from like the late 80s maybe early 90s... they sucked major ass... they were on mtv alot.... when mtv use to play music... ahh... the good ol days... music on mtv... who'da thunk it
