I got my first pair of contact lenses yesterday. It took me 1.5 hours to get them in the first time with the coach @ the eye DR. He was cute & all so I didn't mind spending the time with him but I felt like such a wuss. This morning it went a little better. I got them in in about a half hour. I think I got one of them in backwards but didn't want to screw around & take it out by the time I figured it out since I had already did my make-up so I figured I would just guts it out the 5 hours that I was supposed to wear them before taking them out for a break. I haven't felt all that uncomfortable so I went a little longer, like 9 hours. So anyway, when I get to trying to take them out they just move around in my eyes & I can't get them to let go. The good thing is the one I had backwards is now the right way around, I think. My eyes are so pissed off I am not going to screw with them any more for a while. I'm just going to take them out when I get home. I didn't bring eye shadow with me so I'm going to go through the rest of the day with half of the eye shadow rubbed off. I do have mascara so I can fix that. I was going to try to attach pictures but when I saw how bad my eyes looked with the run mascara & all I decided against that Alice Cooper imitation. I scared myself.

ugh, contacts creep me out. I tried them once but I couldn't get them to stay where they were supposed to. Poking my eyes several times a day just doesn't sound like much fun to me. Besides, glasses can be fun accessories (and I can see without them, I just get headaches if I read or anything without them)

Ya, I'm getting them so I can use them for cycling. I haven't been able to read my cyclocomputer for a few years now & maps are nice to be able to read too. Not to mention being to actually see if I have to do a roadside repair. I only intend to use them once in a while once I am past the breaking in period. <that's me being broken in not the lenses.

I like my glasses. I think they look cute. This isn't for cosmetic perposes.

I am getting more used to sticking my fingers into my eyes. I think that I'll practice just putting them in & taking them out over the weekend. Once I have mastered that I'll be able to let it rest until I go for another ride. It's going to be raining here so Ithat won't be this weekend.

Just get prescription sports goggles. (the cool ones with the headband.) then you dont have to worry about touching your eyes.

Im so grateful for my perfect vision!!

I'm stuck with contacts till I can afford some glasses. I broke them, and then my roommate used the unbroken side to clean his bowl. Grrr... now I have no choice but to wear contacts, or wear resin stained glasses :)
