I thought I might share this.

A friend told me that Pope Benedict XVI won't live long, and after him there will be one last Pope- The whore of Babylon.

I asked her how she knew about this, she said she saw a documention ( or something like that) on a Christian channel. She said that there was a man that lived about 1000 years ago, he got a prophecy from the Lord about the future Popes, and the guy wrote down the discriptions/names of them.

Now, this made me curious, and so I 'yahoo-ed' it, and I advise you to take a look:

What do you think about this?

I do not disagree with it. The Catholic church is the whore of babylon. I'll post more about this topic later.

i doubt there is anythign in Rev about the Earths Magnetic feild, but just because i was tlaking about it in Physics, ill mention it here

the earth magentic feild periodically switches polarity, right now, the Earths north pole is Magneticly south, and vise versa for the south georgraphic pole..the earths magnetic feild protects us from harmful radiation and other joyus stuff like that from the sun..

nobody knows how long the process takes, cuse there is no record of it ever happening, but there is evidence in rocks on the bottom of the ocean..molten iron alligns itself with the magentic feild, and we can see that periodically the direction of the iron being formed switches direction, which leads to this though about switching polarities...

ANYWAYS-if the polarity switches quickly [like under 5 years, and im just throwing these numbers out] we would probobly get off not too bad, cause not too much crap would get at us, but if the process of dissolving and then reforming takes longer, like 25-100 years, then we could be in deep doodoo...

eh, just kinda makes you wonder...

Yeah, many of the prophecies in the Bible came true, whether you're ready to accept this fact or not. You were probably even to lazy to read.

Haha, it sounds like a science fiction novel! Hee hee ... something along the lines of that new movie that came out recently, Constantine!

I enjoyed reading that story because it was so inventive, it was very convincing!

This was obviously written before Pope Benedict XVI was elected.

Has anyone noticed that this writing only shows two things: (1) How the new Pope got his name, (which is cool, at first I thought he named himself after a breakfast omelette) and (2) how wrong the writing is.

I mean, it says in that book that Pope Benedict XVI is going to be black. He's not black!

This is where the prophecies start to unravel and become merely predictions. All that the guy who wrote the prophecies had to do was come up with a couple of neat little sayings that are so vague they can pertain to anyone, things like "from the labour of the sun" or "from the half of the moon." I mean, I look at either of those statements, and I can see how they could pertain to ANYONE. It doesn't say anything specific, it's all just vague generalizations, like the concept of a fortune cookie.

Of the few *specific* things that were said, it doesn't seem to me like any of them are true, especially about Pope Benedict XVI being black.

Hence, one can enjoy this story as only a fictional short story and nothing more.

A lot, the israel/ Iraq war (now), all Jews being persecuted(sp?) and held captive, afterwards returning to Israel (WWII), the destruction of the Jewish temple (OT, a thousends years or so before this actually happened), Jesus, called the 'messiah' (OT, 2000-1000 B.C.).
So many of them... check out these for more info:

I have indeed heard that Benedict XVI is supposed to be a "short-term" pope, in fact that was apparently present in the minds of the Cardinals who voted for him. They elected him to pacify certain elements of the church, but expect him to die soon so that they can bring on a more progressive candidate. Or at least, that's my take - it could be as simple as the fact that they didn't like John Paul II hanging on for almost 29 years.

In any case, I highly doubt the next Pope will be the Antichrist, no matter what some lame prophecy says.

    I guess we'll see, won't we?

I'm going to make a prophecy along the lines of those found in the bible.

One day there will be a man who comes up with new religious ideas.

One day there will be no United States.

One day there will be no humans ( this is typically called armageddon prophecy)

see prophecy is just common sense and a little logic, sometimes people are better at it than others, we call them prophets.

I don't think he's the Antichrist either... but rather the Whore of Babylon who sits on 7 hills (hmmm...the Vatiken.). It says she will come in Purple and Scarlet, and wear golden embellishments.

RYU, I think you casting your pearls before swine. Jokers only want to joke.

And Hikaru Zero, placing your face in your post only displays to us the vacuum behind your eyes. Comb your hair; lose the peach fuzz.

I don't think that you could prophecy something like this:

    The Sin-Bearing Messiah

    Isa 53

53:1 Who has believed our message? To whom will the LORD reveal his saving power? 2 My servant grew up in the LORD's presence like a tender green shoot, sprouting from a root in dry and sterile ground. There was nothing beautiful or majestic about his appearance, nothing to attract us to him. 3 He was despised and rejected — a man of sorrows, acquainted with bitterest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way when he went by. He was despised, and we did not care.

4 Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God for his own sins! 5 But he was wounded and crushed for our sins. He was beaten that we might have peace. He was whipped, and we were healed! 6 All of us have strayed away like sheep. We have left God's paths to follow our own. Yet the LORD laid on him the guilt and sins of us all.

7 He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led as a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth. 8 From prison and trial they led him away to his death. But who among the people realized that he was dying for their sins — that he was suffering their punishment? 9 He had done no wrong, and he never deceived anyone. But he was buried like a criminal; he was put in a rich man's grave.

10 But it was the LORD's good plan to crush him and fill him with grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have a multitude of children, many heirs. He will enjoy a long life, and the LORD's plan will prosper in his hands. 11 When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of what he has experienced, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins. 12 I will give him the honors of one who is mighty and great, because he exposed himself to death. He was counted among those who were sinners. He bore the sins of many and interceded for sinners.
    NLT

    (BTW: This prophecy got Fullfilled.)

There's no way you can get that by simple common sense and a little logic. Tell us the biography of our future president in our next war.

Some homeless guy could go get beaten and executed, and he'd have fulfilled the prophecy too. What's your point?

The underlined parts only become applicable once the person has been martyred.
