    Hello everyone,
    I'm Murray from Scotland.
Reading the posts in this forum has given me an idea. Someone may have already suggested this........people might think it's a good idea or it might fall flat on its face. But I was thinking that the people on this forum seem to be very like-minded and we all love Amsterdam. How about organising a Hip Forum Annual Pilgrimage? Last time I was there I was on my own and there seems to be other people who visit the city on their own or in small groups.
It would be excellent if we could organise a time once a year (probably summer) when anyone from this forum could meet up in the 'Dam. It would be a great way to make new friends and it would be a lot of fun.

    Just a thought.
Let me know what you think....

    Muzza :)

    Excellent idea!

Being a member of this Forum and Channels I was amazed at how many fellow members from each place were in Amsterdam over this past Queensday. What a great time was had by all.

For me personally, I am planning on at least a week every year over Queensday. I know a few others that make the annual pilgrimage at this time as well.

My vote is that the annual Forum Meet be during the week of Queensday. The week before and after Queensday weekend.

    Just my opinion. Others??!!!

Yes, it's a good idea, like Icticity said most do it around
Queensday by the looks of how things panned out this year.

As for myself, I go to A'dam mid-Feb only, as I try to sometimes
hit Spain or Cyprus in the summer time, when money permits.

Cool. Yes, Queensday sounds perfect. This is something we should try and get together. It's worth a go.

Queensday ruled!!!!!! In the past, i had preferred mid-may (less crowded and better weather) but I must admit that the extra energy amsterdam derives from queensday was amazing! this is definately the time of year i will make return trips....(best to book in december or november though!!!)

    peace,
    koopa

Gotta go earlier, hope I can go later. If any one wants to meet there before then, I'll be the guy in vonderpark with a number 9-15 June. Thanks again muzza.

when i return , I will not go on Queens day. Too many people , in such a small city... hard to find a place to stay, and other stuff. I would prefer to go later on, when the weather is good, and I do not need a rain jacket all the time. The trains were too crowded, lots of rude people... I just want to party with 8-9 cool people and have space to walk around the city, is that expecting too much ?

Sorry to hear that speedracer. Your company will be missed when we're all tokin' up on Amsterdams' finest next Queensday.

Too bad Queensday turned out to be such a lame experience for you this year. That blows.

I stayed away from the way crowded areas like Dam Square and Damrak and had relatively little trouble getting around or encountering rude people. YMMV.

Cheers to a great trip over whenever you decide it's best!

I am pretty new to this forum. But I think an annual internet forum pilgrimage is a great idea. If there is anyone else who would like to join me I will be taking a journey of my own in August.

lol, well actually I live in Amstelveen (please don't make fun of me - or maybe you haven't ingeburgerd in Amsterdam enough yet to know Amstelveen's reputation :p ) but I'm 5 minutes away from Amsterdam by bike...
