Heya I made a new top.
Its not amazing but it took a lot of work cos the fabrics a bit mean.

The velvet is a thin, soft and light fabric, which shimmers different shades of blue. And the gauze is (annoying to sew :p) a grey/blue colour.

I'm thinking of adding some bead work to it or something, and maybe some straps because it does slip down a bit if you move around lots.

That is really sexy,girl....I like supermommy's idea...the straps made out of gauze would be nice, that way they wouldn't take away from how airy and free that top is. Does that make sense? lol...."airy and free" really does describe the top though. :)

Yea i guess gause straps would work.. i jsut wish it wasnt such a bugger to sew. :p

also do you think it would matter if the straps were tie up? its just i always worry i'll make the straps the wrong size for who ever buys it?

That's really *awesome*. If you could find embriodered ribbon you could use it for the straps and at the seam where you joined the velvet and organza and that would be rad too.

I like straps that tie around the neck...and LostCove's idea is good too,if you used a type of trim for the straps and around the base of the bodice. That would be cute too.

Hehe cheers guys. Hmmm yea ribbons cool but im not a fan of ribbon straps :s (dont ask me why its just one of those things. i think the idea of gauze straps is best cos i like the tops simplicity.

    thanks everyone :)
