sounds like he's taking a shit (I know, it's not really an original comment, but hey, it's just true...)

I do agree that they are an extremely overrated band, however there is just something about them which I love.

just because they play power chords doesnt make them bad, you dont have to play comlicated modal lines to be good. i also do think they are a bit overrated, many bands were better than nirvana as far as musicianship like; alice in chains or pearl jam. but it wasnt just kurt(although it would'nt be as good w/out him), krist's basslines were so simple but they were awesome and dave was an incredible drummer. kurt made them, he was a great songwriter and the creative force, but the other members are often overlooked.

a friend and i went to aberdeen the other week and we hung out under the bridge (i almost fell in the wishkah) and we signed the bridge. I had a really weird vibe, not a bad one, but a weird one. it is truly amazing the reach of kurts soul, there were signatures from people from england and france and tons of others....im rambling....

I basically agree. Sometimes I get a little irked at people saying they're crappy musicians. Writing a simple song that's as catchy as the stuff that Kurt wrote isn't quite as easy as most think, so nine times out of ten it's somebody who's just learning guitar that's saying it. It's basically the whole Beatles argument: if the songs that they wrote are so pathetically easy to write, then why hasn't even one other band pulled it off? If anyone thinks the answer is that there are other bands that've done it just as well, then they just know shit about music, basically... lol

nirvana was not about comlex songs. it was about good songs. i don't care what anyone says, Nirvana, wrote some great songs. simple structure? yes. does that matter? no. the beatles played the easiest shit, but it was good. kurt wrote great lyrics and filled the songs with passion.....he was deffinatly the band...
