I'm not sure how mushroom candles are made. I have a little tie dye looking mushroom candle, had it for about 6 years now...and I have often wondered if it was hand shaped or if it was made with a mold. You may try doing a search online.

You could make a mold. Molds seem complicated, but they really aren't once you learn how.

I think that the mushrooms may wilt down with the weight of the wax. I have tried every way I could think of to preserve those wild mushrooms and nothing seems to work. If anyone knew a way to make candles with them though, that would be great.

Some, but not all mushrooms keep their shape fairly well if you dry them in a dehydrating machine. That's what I do with small morels for both cooking and craft purposes. I might try using wax with that now, actually.
