What was junior and senior high school like for you as gay people?

Overall, I had few problems in high school because I was able to hide my homosexuality very well, but this happened with a guy named Eli when we were in Port Aransas, Texas for a band competition: One night, at about 2:00 A.M., I was awakened by a loud pounding on the door and someone hollering to be let in. I unlocked the door and Eli was there in his underwear. He had sneaked out of the hotel room in his underwear and was caught by a chaperone. He was relieved to be let back in but he also had a look that seemed to indicate that he had wanted me to see him in his underwear.

The next day, I was sitting on the couch watching TV and Eli was going to change into his swimsuit to go to the beach, but instead of going into the bathroom to change, he undressed in front of me. I gave him a look that said ‘Why don’t you go to the bathroom to change’. He responded by grabbing himself and raising his eyebrows at me as if he wanted me to have sex with him.

People decided that I was a lesbian. I'm bisexual, actually, but it wasn't as if they asked me. People did some horrible things to me. One time, a bunch of people were being really nice to me and they invited me to smoke a joint with them. I thought that was nice, but it turned out that they'd laced the joint with things (a lot of them smoked crack.. and the high was extremely fucked up--I know for sure it wasn't pot-- so I'm guessing it was something along those lines..) and then they sat around and made fun of me. They did a bunch of other things like that... but only when I wasn't sober, and when I was sober they were nice to me. Mind games.... eventually I learned "hmm maybe I shouldn't trust these people." As ridiculous as it may sound, I just couldn't get it into my head that people could or would be that cruel. Yes; I'm homeschooling now ;)

    Hey Everyone!
Highschool was a breeze for me... I came out when I was in highschool. I didn't have too many problems with people; just a few isolated happenings! I had a nice support group of friends and family around me. That makes a difference!

highschool is really easy for me. i'm completely open to all of my friends and my gymnastics and diving team. i'm not the type of person to flaunt it in everyone's face, but i'm not afraid to talk about it. no one really says anything to me about it for the most part.

I came out last fall but people already suspected I was bi. High School has been alright with the exception of one or two incidents.
