What the hell about Velvet Underground???? VU & Nico was 1967.. flippin awesomely psychedelic album and White Light/White Heat also 1967 definately not a good top50 list
i guess i never think of velvet underground as being psychedelic in nature. more music for junkies...
The Doors is better than Strange Days.. If you're going to list Electric Music for the Mind and Body then you should have Together on there too. The Monkees shouldn't be on there.. And where's Trout Mask Replica and We're Only In It For The Money???????????
i only had one album by each, and i just like safe as milk better than trout mask. and yeah the doors is probably a better album but strange days is more psychedelic. i only have one album by each band on the list. just to give more variety.
yeah anthem of the sun is on there. i reckon it is THE most full on psychedelic of all the Grateful Dead albums and is probably the most psychedelic one on my list.
Excellent list. Just one things: the West Coast PAEB don't have a self-titled album, i reckon you mean Part One. But it's good to see that you included Trip Thru Hell and the Inner Mystique in the list. The Doors and Strange Days are equally good. And Together is a good album, but nothing special compared to their first two albums.
Listen to their album white light/white heat. Thats a very very psychedelic album. And it was the most heaviest album back then too....
what of the pink floyd's "piper at the gates of dawn" this list is ok but it leaves many other great albums that were very good and psychedelic but of course 50 isn't a big enough number for all the psychedelic albums ever if you want a great list you should look for the book "turn on your mind" it has a list of great psychedelic albums throughout the book and with a list of albums not in the book all the way at the back
and let's not forget that the title of this thread is "my top 50 usa psych album list". these are just the psychedelic albums that the thread starter says are "his" favorites, and aren't we all entitled to our own opinion
doesnt matter. a freind of mine has that turn on your mind book. and the top 100 list in the back of it was also in a mojo magazine one time...and its a crappy list i reckon. and that was a list of "songs". i thought albums of the era would be better coz everyone knows hippies prefer albums to pop singles.
