practising is for people who are actually commited to becoming decent players I don't care if you were joking, anyone who says "teh noobs" is going to get treated like an asshole
But I and a few other people here (probably many) don't practice. We play and learn new things all the time... I imagine that everyone who says they don't practice considers practicing to just play the same thing over and over again........ teh newb.
31 years. The more you know, the more you realise how little you know. If I were to be so sanctimonious to give advice to the young dudes, here, arguing about nothing whatsoever, iw ould say simply this; Practice is learning, which we all need to do, playing is playing at a level good enough for both an audience and yourself to enjoy. What is most important, however, is to be aware of 'feel' and how important it is. Yes, techniques are important, but a great guitarist can play a relatively simple melody of 4 or 5 notes and an audience can 'feel' not just hear how good it sounds. Last tip, avoid effects units....until you are REALLY good....then you won't need em.
well I know the kind of music that you listen to, like oasis, hanson, my chemical romance and all those other mind bogglingly talented musicians does not require much practice in order to imitate, because its just the same 3 chords and a 4 note lead riff repeated over and over again but sometimes in order to be able to play something well you need to play it more than once, even if its as simple as the aforementioned music p.s. I don't mind oasis, I just threw that other shit in there for effect
about two years, or more... i donno. all i do know is i cant go a day without playin somthin... when i try to write somthin, it usually turns into about 2 hours of noodlin around... man, i need more focus
yeah, i seldom use effects... but it sounds really cool when its dark and youre just playin around with a wah or somthin... heh heh
really only a month i have been playing. i'm attempting to teach myself electric on a classical guitar so tis a bit of a challeenge, but i have picked up a few chords, so that's a start!
Yeah man, i like started early september, and now its like late may, so thats like almost like 9 months man, wicked, totally gnarly man. Now but seriously, I feel good about how far i have been able to come within such a short period of time, it shows that practice and hard work does pay off. I have noticed with others that they share the same feelings, um but i still think im far from where i want to be as a guitar player, but the closer i get the better it feels.
