Hey, I've been planning a trip to South America for quite a while now in order to visit/network with various ecovillages, communities, etc. and decide whether or not the community I plan on dedicating the rest of my life to starting will be founded somewhere down there as opposed to Northern California. A friend and I were planning on hitching down, but I recently decided it would be amazing to make the trip by bike instead. It would be even more amazing if enough people would join up (from the start or as we go down, as I'm sure we'll meet people on the road) to turn it into an international critical mass/temporary, mobile community. I'm totally ready to make this happen, and am probably starting out on bike despite the number of others starting out with me, but if you or anyone you know would be interested in this kind of thing, get in contact with me! I was originally leaving the 20th of June from L.A., but if I find enough people that need me to wait a bit longer, I wouldn't be completely opposed. Much peace and love, Maddy maddy@respecttheplanet.com
Maddy...where are you at now, and how old are you and shit?......I love to bike and travel but have never even considered South America. I know very little about the culture there other than its hispanic/portugese..hit me back.
Hey- I don't actually support the idea of people knowing my age before they get to know me, because I feel that they (consiously or not) create too many judgements based solely on that fact. The people that have already shown interest in the trip range in age from older teens to mid-thirties, if that's what you're wondering about, but I don't want age to be a factor in anyone decision to join or not. I'm from and in Northern CA right now, but as of now the trip's heading out from L.A. This is, of course, completely dependent upon where everyone else that decides to join is comming from and where would make the most sense/where people feel most comfortable with. I can write alot more if you're still interested- let me know. P&L Maddy maddy@respecttheplanet.com
