i just started growing marijuana outside my house, just like mother nature intended it to be grown. now i have never done this outside before, will it lose resin fighting the elements? and should i use miracle grow? rite now just water n sunlight but i dont want my weed to taste like shit. any suggestions?
Two suggestions - as someone who grew for a number of years and has since retired - your risk of getting caught with outdoor plants is substantially higher than indoors and NEVER ask for advice on an internet message board especially from a home computer.
It's not that risky. For all we know he could be making it up, we don't know anything, he just wants advice. If you can grow it inside but if growing it outdoors is your only option then you should only water them when no one is looking and use fertaliser ocne every 3 days.
Paranoia is probly what made his growing time a success from the law.Paranoia never hurt anyone.I seriously doubt the law will seek him out for a small outdoor grow,to many sites available now to single out a little guy.Maybe a bit too much paranoia.Fox farms grow big for veg,big bloom for flower(all organic).Throw the miracle grow away!
three words: Fuck The Law! i think i drownded my seeds tho. its been 3 days and theyve gotten lots of sunlite but still no sprouting. its not like im gonna start selling i just dont like buying off people thats how you get busted
Meangreen Great call on Fox Farms - was easily my favorite fertilizer medium Easy Rider - once every three days is complete overkill for outdoor growing, if the right soil medium and blend of organic humous matter is used, you should only fertilize your plants 3 times a summer while growing outdoors - once at the beginning, once in the middle of the summer and once at the start of the budding cycle. Alrighty then, I will give my advice Starters: First off you are running fairly late to get started - for next year, plan on having them in the ground no latter then June 1st for maximum yeild. The reason your seeds have not sprouted is that marijuana seeds need a nice incubating environment to get started in. You need to start the process indoors - place the seeds inbetween damp wet paper towels and under a small light - you should see sprouting within 2 to 5 days - then put the seedlings in small pots, with them completely covered in soil about 1 inch deep in the pot again under the light 24 hours - in a couple of days they will sprout up. For best success outdoors - grow plants indoors until they have produced at least their first set of fan leaves - have a fan on them so that they build strenght before going out into the environment. In the Ground: You can prepare early by picking your sight locations, bring a compass with you and pay attention to the suns angles during midday hours to where you want to place them. One thing to consider is watering so picking locations where there is a stream some what close by is always a good bet as trust me lugging water into the woods is no picnic. Also be sure it is a location where not many people go anywhere near. Only place plants one every 50 yards or so. I would think of multiple locations to avoid losign plants as trust me, you are not the only one around you thinking of growing. This will help protect you from being caught and/or having your plants stolen. The reason you could get caught is pot plants give off more heat than average plants, so when clustered they are easy to spot with infared detection - this is a common method for detecting plants by the government by helicopter(anheiswer busch actually helps fund it) . Also, one plant in an area is less easy to spot for someone's casual eye as opposed to a patch. If you grow a patch, ie. five or more in one location, you are significantly increasing the odds of either having the plants stolen or being caught by the law. Ok back to the ground - you can get your soil out there first, I would use a 1 to 1 to 1 ratio of Pro Mix potting Soil, a good organic compost with lots of manure in it and lastly and very important - perlite to lighten the soil and allow the roots to grow more freely. Transplant your plants into the ground and give them a generous watering. Keep an eye on the seven day forecast and shoot for a period where you'll get them in the ground and watered, have a couple days of just sun and then some rain. Unless you experience extreme drought where you are at - I would only plan on checking on them once every 3 weeks. After the first 3 weeks you should be able to sex them - at this point get ready of the male plants all together, cut em' down and bury them. Fertilizing: If you have used a good organic soil mixture like I explained with an initial ferilization two weeks after getting them in the ground, don't worry about fertilizing them again until the middle of July. I would also recommend the Fox Farm products Meangrean suggested. The last week of August you should return again with a flowering fertilizer. Harvest: Wait as long as you possible can - pay attention to other foliage around you. Do not panic if there is a frost, unless it is going to be back to back frosts - most strains can withstand at least a couple of frosts if there is a break inbetween them. Frosts often 'sweeten' up the buds. If you are really determined to pick at the prime time, buy a book to look at mature THC crystals and use a magnifying glass to observe them. Good Luck - I grew outdoors from age 15 to 20 back home in Vermont and was VERY careful - only went to visit the Girls maybe a total of 6 times from in the ground until harvest. I ultimately switched to indoor growing - though the start up costs of growing indoors are considerable, ultimately it is considerably safer provided you have a home where there are not a lot of visitors and you keep your mouth shut. I definitely enjoyed my time as a grower, but by the time I hit 23 years old, I figured I had dodged Johnny law for 8 years and should consider myself fortunate and called it quits.
oh damn i fucked up, but i copied n pasted everything u wrote thank you. who knows maybe ill still be able to get some good weed out of this anyways
You still have time and could get some very good smoke, its just the yield wont be what you hope for. Generally, I got started in the beginning of April and had good strong 2 to 3 foot plants by the time I put them in the ground june 1st, but at the time my motivation was to have a large quantity.
