hey im going to get a tattoo in a few weeks...first one! i was thinkin about a mini lava lamp on my hip....anyone else get a tattoo on their hip? how much does it hurt? and u know those tatoos..the really bright, colorful ones? are those anything special? because i wanted myne to be REALLY bright with colors! thanks! what do you tell the person when you first go into a tatoo parlor ? i dont really know much about this at all...??
Color usually just cost more. Depends though, Just talk to the person and tell em what you want. Sometimes they will have you come back later while they draw a few ideas up if you dont have a picture or they'll have something or they'll just do it. Depends on where you go. I would look around and ask people you know where they went and what they thought about the finished work. I dont have one on my hip but I think it all goes on how close to the bone the needle goes. Cause im a bony guy and the ones on my shoulders didnt hurt all to bad till they started at the top where theres not so much meat.
actually I have one on my hip, lower back and right thigh and the hip tat was the one that hurt least of all 3....and my hips are boney. I've heard people say that having a tat done over bone hurts the worst but I've found it to be the opposite for some reason. When you go into the tat parlor you'll either know exactly what you want, in which case you can show the artist and he will give you a cost and talk color with you, or you may ask him for some suggestions if you only have a general idea of what you want. Most artist will draw something up for you for a small fee. But make sure you go around to quite a few different places and compare the artists' work.....you def want to get the best in your area. Have fun!
The quality of the color of your tattoo is highly artist dependant(like all aspects of the tattoo). Look at the artists portfolio and choose one who has done color you like. Let him know what you are looking for and point out examples of the colors you liked in his portfolio. Color work that has a lot of depth to it is generally many colors layered on top of eachother. For example, my one flower has 9 different colors in it. This means that it will take longer, hurt more, cost more, and take longer to heal. But, it is totally worth it. Good luck, peace
