I am a homesteader in Alaska. Is there an interest in getting land far from roads and people? I got my homestead in a state land lottery in 1995. The State of Alaska runs land sales most of the time (State of Alaska Department of Natural Resources). My little cabin is built from wood I made into lumber on site, and running water means "run and get it". A solar panel has improved life in the bush with a way to charge 12 volt batteries. This life is not for everyone, but it's the only life for me (I'm not a hermit, a good woman is vital to this homesteader!)
I think he'll be away from the forums for awhile...I remember that he took a new job. I wonder how he's doing..always liked his posts.
