i want to start making some candles...it looks fun!! but i dont really know how....i wanted 2 like buy a candle making kit 2 get started..but i looked at Joannes and they didnt have any they just had like wax and molds andd stuff..so maybe u have to buy it sepreately. so if u do, what do u need to get ?
what kind of candles are you wanting to make, and are they just for yourself or to sell or give away? i can give you some links to point you in the right direction.
well i just wanted some cool ,colorful big scented candles for myself to burn and maybe give some to friends. but mostly for my room cuz i need candles bad and thought 'why not make them?' how expesnive is it to make candles? thank u!
Hmm.. i dont like the gel candles, they just dont make me happy. Stick with regular wax. Once ya start making candles, you could get into soap! oo lala!
essentially you need wax, a mold, wicks, and a double boiler speicifically for candle making or a tin can in a pot of boiling water to melt the wax. It's hard to find kits, I haven't seen any in a long while. I even have a hard time finding the molds themselves.
i highly recommend the starter kits from peakcandle.com they are by far my favorite supplier. but to answer your question - it is both expensive and addictive to make candles, lol. i don't even want to know how much i've put into it...
