Confucius claims that "It is easy to hate and it is difficult to love. This is how the whole scheme of things works. All good things are difficult to achieve; and bad things are very easy to get."

Who here agrees with this? Because I went around asking random people, debating with my friends, and just plain wondering about this thing...and I seem to be getting about a 40/60 answer, hates favour. So what is it? How is it that someone can right off the bat hate someone rather than love them? And I don't mean to *fall head over heels in love* or anything,, just.. love them! You can't exactly fall into hate, can you?

I personally find it easier to love someone when we first meet than to hate them. But that's just me... then there are my friends... they vote hate. Damn them. I actually found that some of my nicest friend voted for hate. That just plain surprised me.

So what are your guys' thoughts?

I find it easiest to be indifferent until you have reason to feel otherwise. and yes. you can fall into hate just like you can fall in love.

For example, it's wrong to hate someone because of their ethnicity, unless they are white, then its ok. It's wrong to kill people unless they are Americans, Americans deserve to die. Everyone should have a political voice, except conservatives; since anyone who disagrees with liberalism is evil by definition, it's ok to hate conservatives. In addition, everyone should have religious freedom except Christians; their religion should be stamped out.
    Does this help?

There are people I don't like, things I don't like, but not to the point that I could consider it hate.

Every time I have read this one I took it in the context of people who I already know.

So acceptance of them or forgiveness can be harder. Loving them at times is definitely harder and the hating would be easier.

To forgive and accept each person in our lives for who and what they are is the key and then loving comes easier.

i hate more people than i love, but i'm trying to avoid conflict with the ones i hate by stating the fuck away from then and being around those that accept me for who i am. maybe that way hate will go away. who knows.

I agree with that. With a family member it would mean the cutting of ties. Not for example a wish to have them not exist.

Since I would rather not lose any member of my circle that is important to me, it is easier to accept and love.

It is easier to repair a bridge than to build a new one. :)

every time i hate someone i am just letting them rent space in my head for free. i strongly believe in karma so i have no reason to hate, therefore, i do not do it.

i do have to work on it though.

I dont really hate anyone.. I try not to hate... To me hate is a very harsh word.. I dislike people.. I only hate a small few though... For me it is harder to hate than love.
