Hi folks So.... spill yer secrets to a quick and easy meal/ drink/ snack that everybody seems to love. Here's my fave: Stuffed baked potatoes.. Can be made as a side dish too.. -Place potatoes in a microwave safe dish/container.. Cook for 10 mins to get the potatoes soft.. -Allow to cool down till warm to touch. Cut the tops off so u can spoon out all the potatoe, so your left with kind of a potatoe shell. -Next cut up half and onion, a few rashers of bacon and about 4 decent sized mushrooms. Fry in a pan till they get some colour. -Next mix the onions, bacon, mushies and potatoe together adding fresh cream till it has a moist consistency, not runny.. -Pack the potatoes firmly (but not to firm to split the potatoe) just over the top of the hole.. -Place a decent amount of tasty shredded cheese ontop. Stick in the oven for 10-15 mins on 200 degrees or until cheese is melted and golden brown -Eat with sour cream and fresh chives....YUMMO
hey, sounds good. mm..... a related question... this 'tasty cheese' i see everywhere in aussie cookbooks... is 'tasty' a brand name, like kraft, or is it a type of cheese here, like cheddar?
Hummus on Pita Bread - a classic fave thats almost too easy Chickpeas, one can, boiled until slightly soft and mashed Tahini/Sesame paste (optional) Garlic and salt to taste Coat lightly with olive oil and serve with Pita
Hows THIS for easy? I take my pyrex 9X9 deepdish. Pour is one 16oz can Apple pie filling and mix that with raisins. I've got this Streusel topping I put on it. Gourmet desert in 45 minutes. Streusel recipe will be available on MY site this week.
Quick and Easy: Put a pot of water on high. While waiting for the water to boil. Chop an onion. In another pan melt 4 Tbsp of butter and saute the chopped onion. Add 3 Tbsp of flour to the onion. Add milk to the mixture. Yep, I'm making a white sauce with the chopped onion. Add 1-2 Tbsp of powdered chicken stock to the white sauce. Oh yeah, garlic. Once the pot of water is boiling, add pasta. Cook. Pour white sauce over the pasta. This whole thing should take about as much time as it takes to make the pasta. Adding different veggies or stuff to the sauce is good.
ok, first tasty cheese is a type of cheese like cheddar or edam...it's a lot sharper than those kinds of cheeses though. It's awesome - i just wish i could find a veggie version here's my recipie. It's really good if you have people over for dinner and you want to just throw it in the oven and forget about it, but it's still gourmet-ish. 1 packet penne pasta 1 block feta cheese (about 250gm) (with vegetable rennet for vegetarians) kalamata olives, as many as you like heaps of tomatoes - you really need cherry or small roma ones with lots of flavour that you can eat whole about 6 cloves garlic, loosley chopped olive oil fresh basil, torn anyway, cut or crumble the feta into about 1cm cubes. throw them in a roasting dish with the (whole) tomatoes, the olives, the garlic and the olive oil. Toss them together then roast in a medium oven (about 150C - 180C ) for about 20 mins or until the tomatoes have burst slightly and they and the feta have formed kind of a sauce. Cook the penne, then toss the roast mixture through the pasta, along with about 3-4 handfuls of fresh basil leaves. And you are done, serve with some fresh, crusty bread, pepper to taste (you shouldn't need salt, because of the feta) and it's an amazingly yum meal for 4 - 6 people. And the measurements are all pretty much to taste, its done in two pans, it's great
you can do what you like with this one..my friend showed me, i was suprised. 1. tortillas 2. hot dogs 3. cheese 5. frosted flakes now combine them(cooked) like a taco or buriito and eat
