i have a super crazy schedule, and live in a "no pets" apartment. so, i have fish tanks. i have a 55 gallon tank with assorted freshwater tropicals: botias and loaches, cories, hatchets, swordtails (who just had 40 babies!), plecos, a rope fish....i know i'm forgetting some. the swordtail babies are being held in a 5 gallon, but we are moving them to the 20 gallon sometime this week.(anyone in my area want any baby swortails???) i also have a 55 gallon tank with a bunch of african cichlids. they're really interesting to watch, and some of their colors are almost as bright as saltwater! my dad always had a small tank, but i was never interested in it till i moved out and got my own. they are so cool to look at. i could watch them for hours. it's better than tv. anyone else have fish? i'd love to hear about them. peace. LP
I want fish but I really don't want to get any new pets now because I'll be leaving to go to college 1000 miles or more away in a year, so I don't want to pour all my love into a pet, even a fish, only to have to leave it in a year. When I'm in college, if my dorm allows fish tanks then I'll definatly get some fish. Probably not anything really involved, so definatly freshwater, but that's ok. I've always wanted fish beyond the goldfish I've always had.
I used to have fish, just normal goldfish type ones. They were quite soothing and fun to watch. Never got very attached to them though, as we couldn't really interact. So probably won't adopt any more.
I have two 20 gallong tanks. one has: a black oranda, a red platy, a neon tetra, a white cloud, 2 serpea tatras, a sm/pleco, and rosy barb. the other has: 1 sm/ pleco, 2 pink kissers, 2 gold barbs, 2 black skirt tetras, 1 white skirt, and a bumblebee catfish. I also have a koi pond outside. and three male bettas, all in seperate bowls...
