And nothing will ever change that!

I am so sick of vegetarians preaching and shoving their ideas down non-vegans necks exactly like religious people do.

I feel alot more energy after a burger than after a salad.

Yeah, before we had tools and weapons we survived solely on veggies, but that was then. What if we have evolved into omnivores?

And as for the argument that we cant eat it raw, or kill it with our bare hands? well we could if we were doing it since birth. you take a ten year old cat that has eaten nothin but cat food its whole life and feed it raw meat, it will get real sick, if it even eats it at all. That same cat's brother, who was a stray its whole life, hunts, kills, eats raw.

    OK, start flaming.

    OK
Me too, thats why they have their own fourm, where they can be self-righteousness without annoying others.
    OK
Not quite, the earliest tools were digging sticks and such for getting veggies. Also, we were not above eating a found carcass. The prehistoric diet was pretty much eat whatever you can.
I'm not sure about that. Do you have a reference for your cat data?
    Only if you start trolling.

The feral cat population in my neighborhood versus the domestic cat population in my hood is the references that i used. but im sure theres something tangible on the net that backs up my argument

And about the vegan forum: you all are being good here. Im talking about in real life, when there is no forum, everyone is just all mixed around.

    so yeah.

i kind of know what death mean i think this its not right to kill animals stuff is bullshit humans have been eating meat for a LONG time,i dont think its wronge to eat meat i do think its wronge to raise an animal to kill it like kepping baby cows in littile cages so they dont move around and stay tender, but cows on a farm roaming around and not given weird hormones is fine, if there cared for and they have enough room to roam whats wronge with that,i hunt becasue its better then buying meat, its cheaper and the animal isnt raised to die it has a chance and livesa free life.

Don't generalize!!!! Because you've met some vegetarians who "preached" doesn't mean all vegetarians and vegans are that way.
Besides, I've met many meat-eaters who preached about how awful being a vegetarian was, and how wonderful was eating meat.

I haven't noticed domestic cats getting sick from eating meat. Feral cats are better at getting fresh meat than domestic, but I question whether domestic cats get sick from fresh meat.

I either ignore or play with street preachers of any religion (veg, christian, abortion, unionization..), depending on my whim. There are so many knot heads of so many varieties that fussing about them isn't worth it.

By the way, have you ever had a good vegan meal. I'm not trying to convert you,I'm omni myself. I'm curious to see how much exposure onmis have to veg* food. I know a fair number of vegans and have had some very tasty stuff.

Excuse me. Dumbass. Hello. Welcome to THE VEGETARIAN FORUMS, you fuckin' moron! Stop shoving YOUR bullshit down OUR throats for a change, you god damn hypocrite!

No, really? I wonder if it's because (1) meat contains more calories than salads do, or (2) you can't make a salad the right way.

We evolved as opportunivores, not omnivores. We started eating meat ONLY because we figured out that we had a higher chance of surviving if we killed something else and ate it instead of starving to death. Nowadays, this is no longer necessary.

What *IF* is all you can say. It's a possibility, it's not reality, so don't try to pass it off like that's the way it is.

Actually, no we couldn't if we were doing it since birth. Before we created spears, we were UNABLE to kill wild animals, even though we tried. So, we sufficed with eating berries. When we finally figured out how to make a spear, we became able to kill.

We don't have teeth capable of chewing apart raw meat (and sushi is only edible because it's bite size to begin with). We don't have claws capable of piercing through an animal's hide deep enough to seriously wound it or even kill it. Your argument is nonsense.

Also, cats have nothing to do with it. Cats are natural born omnivores, humans aren't. Cats have fangs, claws, can run faster than human beings can, and have incredible dexterity and agility. Humans have none of those.

    Exactly.

We are all being good here, yes ... however ... you are NOT.

Also, in real life, where there are no forums, you're just gonna have to deal with us. We put up with your crap all the time.

In fact, here is a list of things we have to put up with:

    (1) Omnivores that are stupid and make mistakes. We ask for no meat, or no eggs, or no milk, and you do it anyway. We constantly have to be on the lookout for your own mistakes.

    (2) Omnivores that try to sneak meat/eggs/cheese/etc. into our food. Yes, they exist. And they are EVERYWHERE. You bother us all the time with your bullcrap.

    (3) Omnivores that never stop asking dumb questions that have already been answered. Like ... "why don't you eat meat?"

    (4) Omnivores that take it upon themselves to walk up to a vegetarian, and go right up to their face, and say, "I eat meat, because it tastes good, so there!"

Given this list ... is it any wonder why we get pissed off at people like you? ESPECIALLY when you come onto VEGAN forums and pull off this kind of shit.

So you justify killing because "its cheaper"? Typical murderer.

Anyway, listen. Do you know what cows have to go through JUST to get milk? First, they have to be impregnated. This is almost always artificial. How'd you like to be a cow and have a human stick its hand up your ... you know.

Then, after they squeeze your nipples every day for 8 months ... you have a baby. And you know what they do? They take it away from you after TWO HOURS.

How would you like to have a baby, and then have it taken away by the doctor for two hours?

You know what happens to most of those babies? Killed within a few days, or turned into the same kind of milk cows.

How'd you like to be in that situation? You think they have it all good, but they don't. Even if living conditions are nice, the way they go about getting milk is retarded.

BTW, the "prehistoric diet" quote was from a different author than the other quotes.

(It shouldn't surprise me that what goes on in the kitchen generates so much heat.)

Seriously, is it a problem that some people try to "sneak" meat into a dish? I can see someone making mistakes when it comes to vegan. (Who knew honey was an issue.) When cooking vegitarian/non-vegan, I have to remind myself that, even though it isn't flesh, chicken stock is not vegetarian.

Do people realy deliberatly try to feed vegetarians meat without their knowledge? If so, those folks are scum.

My vegan coworker brought in a big pot of chili dip and it was excellent. If I knew how to make it, i would. I couldnt tell the difference really. But if i made it, id still make it with beef.

But you must admit you weren't being polite, you came into this forum and started accusing vegetarians and vegans of "preaching and shoving their ideas down non-vegans necks exactly like religious people do."
There are several ways of saying things, and you haven't chosen the appropriate one, at least if you wanted to express how you felt without starting a huge argue.

haha, shit, are you really 22? i must ask, are you under 13 and decided to 'lie' for your registration and figured 22 would be a good age to be? i'm being honest, you sound like a 9 year old angst ridden in a pre-pubescent 'i'm mad at the world' stage.
plus i'm sure there's enough information backing up your theory on the internet as there is enough information disproving it, it's the internet, there's all sorts of bullshit on it, hell, there's pages that are telling kids that dinosaurs still roam the earth....
grow up or change your age. i don't mean to be disrespectful, it's just you come on here trying to act like you're about to disprove a theory and you do it coming off sounding like a child. if it were more thought out and you asked us a question i would happily answer it, but you had to be like 'i'm sick of you, i do what you don't like, let me rub it in yo face, so start flamin at me flamers' what do you expect our response to be after that?

Well i had a vegan preaching my head off the other day. He wouldnt shut up.

And here's a question. How do you get the nutrients that you need that are normally found in meat? Vitamins werent there for our vegan ancestors.

If nobody ate meat, what would happen to all the farm animals?

    n e way.... beer 30

Yes, it is a problem. A SERIOUS problem. Most vegans pride themselves with the fact that, after 7 years of not eating any meat at all, there are no longer any animal byproducts in your system; not even enough to be considered trace amounts. If you feed someone meat without them knowing, you have completely screwed up any of their plans to be 100% animal-product-free.

Yep. The worst part is, there are TONS of people who do this. TONS. We have to virtually be prison wardens about our food, because if we aren't, some omnivore is going to come in and screw it up for us.

Yes, I know, I started the name calling. But, keep in mind, all of the names I called you fit the part perfectly.

Listen, go stick your opinion somewhere else. Not here. You OFFEND people by doing it. It's like not showering for a year, and then walking into a waiting room. It's offensive.

If you don't like my name calling, don't be offensive. Just leave. That is all I/we have ever wanted: You to leave us the f*** alone, and just get out.

You come here saying that vegetarians are all a bunch of self-righteous assholes, but it's exactly as I said. You're a hypocrite. A HUUUUUUGE hypocrite. So just, get out of our sight, and you'll never have a problem. But, if you come to veggie boards spouting out that kind of crap, I will never stop calling you the many nasty names that describe you. It's that simple.

It really, REALLY ticks me off. I'm so sick of hearing this from people like you. =\ I honestly don't know why you can't just leave.

Oh, and I don't want to hear any of that BS from you like "I was telling you how I feel." You came in here calling us a bunch of self-righteous assholes, telling us that you are just going to be a moron and not even consider the morality behind eating meat.

For cripes' sake, you said, "OK, start flaming." So I did. You were expecting to be flamed; you're a troll. That's what happens to trolls like you. So get used to it.

Duh. When you insult us, we preach. If you didn't insult us, we would let bygons be bygons and just let you live your own life. But, with omnivores, this NEVER is the case.

Okay, not never, but that RARELY is the case. You always come to our boards and insult us and say all these nasty things, then get defensive when we start calling you names.

Honestly, you don't belong here. You shouldn't even be allowed to be here. I could go, right now, and ask a moderator to ban you just for breaking the terms of the forums, and being so offensive. I'm not going to do that, of course, but I could. Don't think you are "innocent" or any of that baloney.

Well, soybeans contain higher amounts of higher quality protein than can be found in meat. I get my protein content by drinking soymilk. I have it with cereal, and I enjoy drinking it standalone, or with any sort of meal. I easily get 2 or 3 times the amount of protein that I need each day. In fact, many nuts and plant seeds contain high amounts of protein, though soybeans come out on top.

The only other vitamins and minerals vegans tend to have a deficiency in occasionally are B12 and iron. Eating lots of leafy dark greens will give you the iron you need (like lettuce), and there are certain plants like mushrooms that contain fair amounts of B12. And you can always supplement them.

They'd live the same way that all the other animals live. But they wouldn't suffer anywhere near what they do nowadays. What with all the steroids and hormones that they are given, and how they are bred to be extremely obese.

    First of all Death:
You DID generalize. Incredibly. The way I talk on here about my beliefs is far from what I do in real life... I don't just go around looking for meat eaters and start going off on them about my beliefs...ever. I have been dating a meat-eater for over a year and a half now... Obviously not all vegans are the way you described, or I wouldn't be in love with someone who eats meat.
Secondly, Hikaru is EXTREMELY correct... We deal with omnivore's bullshit EVERYDAY of our lives....
I'm not religious, but I also don't like the fact that you also generalized religious people for "shoving their beliefs down people's throats"... i have a VERY religious family, and they are quite accepting to my non religious ways, just as many vegans are to other omnivores.

For a lot of us this forum is more or less of a sanctuary where we can actually relate to other vegans or veggies because of the bullshit we put up with daily [regarding the shit we get from omnivores like yourself].... it IS offending to a lot of us, BECAUSE this is the one place we feel that we can talk about our ideas, beliefs, and lifestyle without being attacked on the subject. Thank you for ruining that.

    Again, Hikaru *applause* :)

That is absolutely true, in fact there is only one other place where I can talk about this subject and that is the U.V.V.U. (unión vegetariana y vegana del Uruguay) which has been recently formed and which even more recently I've joined, but the meetings are only once a month, so this is where I feel free to talk about vegetarianism the other 29or 30 days of the month.

Totally agree, Hikaru, once again you've expressed how we all (or at least I) feel:)

mmm...just ate some delicious, locally grown and razed, beef, not that hormone induced scary stuff you get at the super chain market, but one happy cow that once grazed in a beautiful pasture...i used to be vegetarian, vegan even...changed my ways, now i'm an omnivore, though i can respect vegans, and i hope not to offend anyone. we now raise chickens for eggs and meat, way more flavorful!
