"Lowly and riding on a donkey , A colt, the foal of a donkey . " is jesus riding on 2 different animals at the same time or am i missing something?
But it's in the bible! "And Moses said, "So what the hell are we supposed to call you?" And God said "Forget what I am, or who I am, or what my name is. the important thing is that you realise that I Am. Now pass the fucking Bong" (loose trans.)
hahahahahaha...... i can imagine god's deep movie-presenter voice calling out from the heavens, ....*aheghghrm* "Nowww... pass the fuckkkingg bonnggg!" i just looked into the 2 animal gig.... my humblest apologies for the copy & paste: A more humorous example can be found in Matthew's account of the trimuphal entry (Matt 21:1-9, cf Mark 11:1-11 and Luke 19:29-38). In Mark and Luke, the story is pretty straightforward. Jesus asks the disciples to get ONE colt, which is acquired by the disciples, and which Jesus rides upon into Jerusalem. Matthew, of course, has to point out that this is a "fulfillment" of Zech 9:9. However, Matthew slipped up here. He read "upon a donkey, EVEN on a colt, the foal of a donkey" as "upon a donkey AND a colt, the foal of a donkey". Read the correct way, one can see Zechariah is simply being poetical, and only talking about one donkey. Read Matthew's way, however, two animals are required: a donkey AND a colt. And this is precisely what one finds in Matthew. Here, Jesus calls for TWO animals; having been brought to him, he lays garments upon them and rides upon THEM. This must have been one impressive stunt, riding two animals at once. (But, then again, Jesus is claimed to have pulled off far more spectacular miracles! Here, one can clearly see that Matthew has gone out of his way to take a story (quite possibly, from Mark) and rewrite such that it fulfills a prophecy. ???
i think thats true to an extent [the extent being the bong and purpose-ness] but i mean, you'd be hard [pressed to find someone who can truthfully say that they can find words that will fully describe the love they have for their significant other...it is pretty well impossible...[in the fears of sounding like a jedi] words are bad-trust your feelings
That is pretty funny. It also says that he told his disciples to go into the city and find afore mentioned beast (s) and if anybody asks them what they're doing tell them it's for him and they'll let the disciples take them. that could be taken to mean it was arranged before hand.
Love is nothing more than an emotion. It is not some objective "thing", but rather a subjective experience caused by the brain. Some "love" experiences such as loss of sleep, appetite and rational thinking is nothing more than a type of psychosis.
you could take it a step further and say that that's what the whole tower of babel story was supposed to mean; (possible interpretation) God want's every person to seek God on his own, to make it a personal thing. God didn't want people getting together and trying to figure him out because that's where religions come from.
hey dude, don't be harsh...... i'm canadian too! i'll venture to agree with what you're saying, though. how mind-boggling (and i say that just honestly, without meaning to start a fight) that any person could admit they have zero logical reasoning for believing that a man who lived two millenia ago was the Son of God when in fact, two millenia ago, no one would have believed it themselves, if it weren't for evangelists proclaiming to the Jews, "You Jews have the prophecies; We Christians have the fulfillment!". So, the non-believers became believers. Nowadays, it seems that we've regressed from even that logical point of view, and given NO evidence but for the hordes of other believers, we believe, too. ------- i've discussed these sorts of things with Christian acquaintances, to the point where they shrug and say they haven't studied the topic enough to defend their faith in any manner, yet don't seem in the least bit ashamed of that fact, nor do they make any move to pick up a book at the library on the nature of early christianity or the making of the new testament. i could just as well say my 'feelings' make me believe that the number "17" is Holy and base my life around that. people would consider that lunatic. but what if millions of others came to believe the same? we would stop even questioning our motives. peace, sophia
hahaha... actually the site that i got the quote off of went on to discuss that point exactly. it's like what i said in another thread around here.... if i said i'd give you $50 if the next guy who walked in the door were wearing a hat, then you walked outside and told the next guy to put on a hat, isn't that somehow, in any way, cheating a bit?? lol
somtimes i think someon who hasent studied at least one other faith than the one they are in, often aren't right to say what they follow is the truth... i used to be weird, and now im still weird just a different kind
to be fair though there are perported fullfillments that can't be explained by the intentional fullfillment theory; "They parted my ramiant among them and cast lots for my cloak..". but in order to debate the prophesies on any level both sides would have to agree to assume (for the sake of argument) that the gospels are historically accurate.
Lol! I'd be happy if people just actually studyed the faith they're in before trying to get others to accept it. I used to think I was weird. then one day God bitch slapped me and made me think about someone besides myself for a minute and I realised everybody else was weird too which just makes me average.
My have we come off topic...I'm the only one who actually gave a valid answer to this person's question! My, have we stormed into this without acknowledging the details. "Lowly and riding on a donkey , A colt, the foal of a donkey . " Reread that verse, and acknowledge the COMMA. He's obviously DESCRIBING the donkey. Clearance: "He's riding a donkey, - a colt, the foal of a donkey."
