ive had my nose pierced for almost 4 months now (3 and 3 weeks) and want to change it up. I know last time i had it pierced i put a new screw in after two months, but the one i am putting in is silver, not titanium or gold, so i know that if its still a 'raw' piercing they can cause infections. does anyone know if its too soon to put a silver nose screw in in place? Thanks for any help!
Thats a tricky one. I've only ever switched my nose piercing to Surgical Steel and Titanimum, so would it be possible for you to get a stud in Titanium instead? 4 months should be fine, if you can feel any pressure, there's reddness or the hole doesn't feel quite right, then obviously don't change it. I was told it needed 3 months to heal so yeah, 4 should be fine. I think when they said about silver causing infections in raw piercings, they meant ones recovering from infections and newly pierced noses. Try it, and if it irritates take it out!
As fare as I am aware, it takes roughly 12 weeks for a piercing to heal depending on the individual, as long as the Silver stud is clean, it should be ok, but as Ruby said if it feels a little uncomftable then take it out & wait another 2-3 weeks.
I got mine done spur of the moment, no one was sober and my friend had a stud gun. The stud was very ugly so after I think 2 weeks I took it out and replaced it. I was very stupid and very lucky because my piercing is fine and I love it. You should be fine. Just make sure everything is steril and if your nose gets irriated back off. you know? You should be fine, if I was fine you'll be peaches.
