hey... i just started readin the tao of pooh. it explains taoism with a story of pooh... its like, well this is the back: The how of Pooh? The Tao of who? The Tao of Pooh! in which it is revealed that one of the world's great Taoist masters isn't chinese... or a venerable philosohper.... but is in fact none other than that effortlessly calm, still, reflective bear. A.A. Milne's Winnie-the-pooh! While Eeyore frets.... and Piglet hesitates and Rabbit calculates.... and Owl pontificates....... Pooh just is. And that's a clue to the secret wisdom of the Taoists. I just began reading it cuz my mom loves it, anyone else enlightened by the book?
I actually just bought this book today, I've read bits and pieces of it when I picked it up, and it looked good and I've heard its reallygood, so I got it
i'm also just reading it.... bought it second hand awhile back; i'm only about 1/4 way through the tao of pooh, and the other half of the book is the te of piglet. i haven't been reading it lately cause i've got a million other books on the go. it's pretty good, not the best thing i've ever read. i did enjoy the 'reasons for knowledge bit' - ie rabbit: knowledge for the sake of being clever, owl: knowledge for the sake of appearing wise, eeyore: knowledge for the sake of complaining about something.... etc. a bit cheesy at times; i kind of cringe at pooh's over-the top-cuteness... but i guess that's winnie the pooh. happy reading! peace, sophia
