i dont have a scale, but i have an ounce. This equals a problem, i need to wiegh out a 1/2 8th for my lil bro, but i want it to be exact so i use my dank sparingly. Lol is there something i can create or build that is like a scale(like the old fashioned ones that have 2 baskets on each side then you add the weed to the other side til it wieghs the same.) will that work or will it not. im thinking of balancing a long stick and a string on each side then put a dime or a nickel and put the desired wieght of herb til it is the same. but another thing a dime wieghs lik 2.7555 grams, but i need something that wieghs 1.7 g's for a 1/2 8th. how much does a credit card weigh?

a half 8th is 1.78125 grams. There isnt a good way to make a hoemmade scale because even witht he two baskets idea...how would you tell how much it is? i suggest driving to a headshop and picking up a handscale.

Well a loonie weights almost exactly 7 grams, so it's good for measuring quarters, but what you want is a 1/16th which is about 1.75 grams. That presents a problem.

Do this: take a clothes hanger and untwist it, bend it as straight as possible. Find a flat surface like a counter top and tape the hook part flat onto the table, let the long skinny part hang off but it should stick out pretty much straight. Then get a piece of string and tape one end to the tip of your hanger, and put a square of tape on the other end. Lightly stick two dollar bills onto the square of tape, the hanger should move down an inch or two. Mark that place on the wall or line it up with something in the background. Then stick a couple buds onto the square of tape and watch for the hanger to dip to the same spot. The buds should come off easy with just a few hairs left behind.

One more thing; Get a scale.

    Split the Ounce in Half
    Half them into Quarters
    Half them into Eigths
    Half them into Sixteenths

    So on......

Many many years ago me and a friend scored a pound of weed to sell as ounces.
But we had no scale and back then it wasn't easy to aquire one.
So we laid a sheet out of the floor, got 16 baggie's and went to work.
We eyeballed it as we went, and divided it up as evenly as possible.

Another thing we did if there were 2 of us: one person would make two piles, the other would choose which one he wanted.

Its not worth your worry to be too precise. Do the best you can by eye. Then add a smitch too make sure that you aren't a cheap bastard. Give it to your bro. Then teach him the proper way to thank someone for free weed. Relax and be happy.
