why do you think she might be doing this? my dog used to do the same thing untill her skin became all red and scabby- but it was because she had a skin ailment which was making her dry and itchy which is something that we could only fix with a vet's help. maybe you could try bathing her with a special type of moisturizing shampoo/conditioner and that might help.....but I would suggest atleast calling your vet for some professional advice. good luck to you and snoopy:)

There are too many possibilities. They include a flea allergy (mediciated shampoo) and a nervous condition (bitters and training). But other less likely option may be allergies to other products and various skin conditions. If the skin is broken and raw I think you had better go to the vet.

You should take Snoopy to the vet. My dog started chewing on his rear along the top side of his tail till it was bleeding. After trying everything I could think of I took him in and they found he had a thyroid condition of all things. Other symptoms included weight gain, aggressiveness and the hair on his belly was falling out. As soon as he started taking his meds he was back to normal.

Good luck to you & Snoopy:)

these are called "hot spots". (i worked at a vet's office). You need to get an ointment at the vet that will make the spots not itch and so he will stop biting them, or else they will never heal- and could get infected.

Could be allergies of some sort. Grass, shampoo, food even. Take her to the vet. They will fix her right up, and she wont be so itchy. Poor thing =(

Edit: Could also be mange, or something similar.
