I like them both. However, sometimes I start to notice myself reading too much fiction (mostly murder mysteries), and I feel like I'm not learning all I could be (should be).... so I have this system where I try to go back and forth. One fiction book, followed by one non-fiction book, etc.
I'm not sure, I think I tend to read more fiction. But non-fiction can be very interesting, depending on the subject.
I usually find out about books from reccomendations in magazines or friends, or I just go in the library and pick something, so I like both
You can learn from fiction, too. It definately depends on the book and the topic (not to mention the skill of the writer). Nowadays, I read mostly fiction--and children's books. I do love a good history book, though. It is just difficult to devote my attention to anything too dense with my crazy life going on all around me.
I read to relax, so I find fiction can take me away from the daily grind. but I do like reading biographies on occasion.
I usually prefer non-fiction. I used to read alot of fiction, but started reading american hisroty and have been hooked on non-fiction ever since. Just picked up a copy of Millennium: A History of the Last Thousand years by Fernandez-Armesto. Great read.
i read a fair Share of them both. it all just depends on my mood. and i will be found reading both....like right now i am reading Breath Sweeps Mind...a buddhist meditation book....and also The Dark Tower...a Stephen King book...
I like reading about other cultures. I read books on that topic that are both fiction and non fiction.
I read alot more non fiction then fiction but when I was younger (around 13) I read alot of fiction books.
I read both, most of the non-fiction stuff is political, but i wouldn't want to only read that stuff, it would be boring. I read fiction books to get away sometimes i suppose.
