another reason to have a gun
If you mean for the guys who beat him up,i guess so.If they had a gun they could have killed him.As for the stores only government regulations keep some people from buying guns not the stores. The stores will sell to anybody that passes the government criteria, but thats gun control which in your book is wrong.
Now if we took the guns off the street, quit manufacturing them, quit importing them a few would get smuggled in,a few would be produced by machinests but neither would get to far.I say again it's a cold war with the only winners being the gun manufacturers.

If they had wanted to kill him, they would have.
This was done to send a message.

If they are caught, they will not be charged with murder.

Like I said before...reality....Its fun to escape from it, but its always there lurking in the shadows.

i have a solution get rid of them . Then get rid of knives. bats. 2X4 , screw drivers, gasoline, oh and motor vehicles since they only kill 40.000 americans each year. The winner Nissan, Honda, GM and FORD.

go round and round in the circle game. All those things have practical uses.Guns are only to kill and destroy.Sure there's target practice, skeet shooting and the like, but these are only games in which you pretend to kill things.

Nope, I never "pretend" to kill things.
If that was my intent..living out here in the woods, I would never have to pretend.
Its fun to shoot at clay targets and paper targets just to see how accurate i can be.

There are millions of ....birds, squirrells, groundhogs, deer, possum, cats, dogs etc... out here if I wanted a live target.
Actually by becoming a good shot I am being a more responsible gun owner.

For the past 2 years I have been alone out here during the week, Larry worked in the city and stayed on the trucking lot during the week and only came home Friday night thru Sunday night.
One evening during the week, a car pulled in our driveway and my dog was out on his run barking.
I looked out the window and saw a girl walking to the door, I looked out to the car and saw a yopung guy sitting in the drivers seat.
I opened the door and locked the screen. She came up and asked me if I knew where "Mike" lived. There is no Mike on my road. I asked what his last name was...she didn't know. I asked what the address was...didn't know.
I asked what road she was looking for,,,didn't know.
I told her there was no Mike on this road, and that my husband would be home any minute if they wanted to ask him.
She said no and walked away.
We only have one truck and it was with Larry, so our place looked like there was no one here and they may have come to rob...
There are constant articles in our little paper about meth labs out here.
And there are people who break into homes here because its a rural area and people who work are gone all day leaving a house out in the country with few neighbors around.

Like I said, I don't go looking for trouble. But if it shows up...I will have to deal with it.

Oh, the whole time she was talking to me, I had one hand on my shotgun, propped next to the door. It made me feel safer. And thats one thing I like...feeling safer.

Sorry didn't mean you.I meant that target practice as a bad excuse for owning a gun.If you do own a gun for protection,i think you should know how to use it.Not saying that you should own a gun in the first place.
It's not us thats the problem,it's those others that have the same accessability to the same guns that we do.
    Oh my,my tongue's getting twisted.

    yep, you're right about that.
    I don't think I am the problem.
I would love nothing better than to know I was safe out here, that if someone I didn't know, pulled up in my driveway, that I could walk out there , talk with them, offer them a drink and make a new friend.
But I know about bad people...I was kidnapped when I was 12.

    So I take precautions.
First is safety, I'm not paraniod, just cautious.
Before, when I was here alone and I heard a car, I paused and listened.

The good thing is... Larry is retired now so I'm never alone.
If we go to town we go together.
    If I'm home, he's home.

Good thing we like each other..lol.

i had this beautiful akita. He loved people but when someone aproached the house and saw this big bear headed dog in the window they thought twice...then there was Shena, she was a sweetheart of a pit bull, wouldn't harm a fly. When my house was broken into the door was pryed open and quickly shut leaving poor Shena alone in the house just wanting to get petted.Dogs being a natural protecter of man, properly raised are better protection and safer than guns.If you need protection get a bigger dog.peace

you keep coming back making a total idiot out of your self. dogs do make wonderfull warning and protective device however if i have a gun i can shot your dog and butt fuck your daughter while you watch. a dog would be usefull to warn me and they are a very early warning device , enough to go for your revolver = pistol or shotgun . only if i ran out of ammo maybe i would send my dog as a last resource.

Yes, Jackeddy is a great alert system. But he can only do so much.

If he is shot, he can't help me.

My guns on the other hand are better protectors.
I would give a warning shot..of course, I don't want to hurt anyone...wish the criminals felt the same way.

Bottom line again is....I also wish I lived in a world where things like this wouldn't even be a topic...but I do...so as I live (self-sufficiantly) I also depend upon myself as my protector.
