anyone know how to get rid of the mark left once u get rid of the ingrown hairs?

i shaved probably a month-2months ago and have had some ingrown hairs, but after i get rid of them they usually leave a red mark

is there anything i can do to remove the mark? perhaps somthing to open the pores? they are like just red spots, not open wounds or anything just like where i had taken the hair out then it healed but left a mark

when you shaved, did you go against the hair? or with it?
One time i shaved against the hair growth and OMFG!!!
when it started to grow in back it itched like a bloody bitch,
and i had ruffely 8 in-grown hairs.. AHHH it was gory. lol

Always shave WITH the hair growth, NEVER against it. ..
I learned that the hard way.. ugh..

Did you shave bare skin? wet skin? or with shaving cream on?
Also, did you use moisturizer after shaving?

try utterly smooth.. it is a great cream :).
I use that after shaving, and I never get ingrown hairs...

about the ones you already have:

An ingrown hair often heals on its own. However, in the case of chronic ingrown hairs, treatment may include:

allow the hair to grow longer
    depilatory (to remove the hair)
    electrolysis (to remove the hair)

consult your physician if you have any questions... this is more of a medical related question :). good luck

I don't know if there is anything you can really do.. I've had soem that left marks, the marks are still there, after months and months, they're fully healed and all... I guess it's just a scar.

I had that too, some girl put out a cigerate in the mark and after I peeled off the burned skin the mark was gone, but I don't think that works everytime tho

well there are fade creams on the market..there's this fade gel that's new by Neutrogena, which I like..it's mostly used for blemishes though...But after shaving to help reduce the risk of razor burn and ingrowns use hydrocortizone cream or gel...it's a steroid that reduces inflammation...good luck

Never had a problem with lasting marks, but the blemish scar treatment Neutrogena thing sounds like a good idea... It is inflammed skin. You know, I was skimming Jenna Jameson's "Make Love Like a Pornstar" book in Barnes and Noble, and her cooter shaving advice is to use a bacitracin ointment instead of shave cream, like a generic Neosporin pointment. Made sense, tried it, and haven't had a problem since!!!
