'These Times They Are A Changin' or 'Catch The Wind'? 'All Along The Watchtower' or 'Sunshine Superman'? I've not heard much Dylan music yet but I'll say Donovan because I feel he had more mystical, enchanting songs for a time. Especially things like 'Tangerine Puppet'
It has to be Dylan, he has more substance with his acid trips, haha, the difference between the two can be seen in the blackand white video of Dylan in london where he first meets Donovan. Dylan is the master. Donovan the student. But Donovan does kick some major ass too.
I think he did contribute. Dylan rules over the folk scene. Like a benevolent lord with satin gloves that plays a lute. What? haha
thats the most intelligent response I've seen so far!? Actually, they're both great! met them both! I work back stage at alot of shows and I think i have the best job in the world!!! but yeah,...if i were to make a choice as to who is # 1 and 2,....it would have to be Dylan, then Donovan,.....period!!!!!!
I Love Both But Don Just Pips It For Me Because I Love His Silly Songs Like Jeninifer Juniper And There Is A Mountain.dylan Is Far To Serious To Write Songs Like Those, And The World Is Serious Enough.
Well, Dylan had Highway 61, talking world war III, rainy days, but Donovan had Salvation stomp, Season of the Witch, Hurdy Gurdy man and Googoobarabajagal. C'mon! Mmm Leonard Cohen...
absolutely bob dylan.i don't think his music is folk, there are different music styles, like rock metal punk folk...but bob is a category for himself...too unique to be sorted
