"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."- George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Aug. 5, 2004 "And now the liberals want to stop President Reagan from selling chemical warfare agents and military equipment to Saddam Hussein, and why? Because Saddam 'allegedly' gassed a few Kurds in his own country. Mark my words. All of this talk of Saddam Hussein being a 'war criminal' or 'committing crimes against humanity' is the same old thing. LIBERAL HATE SPEECH! And speaking of poison gas . . . I SAY WE ROUND UP ALL THE DRUG ADDICTS AND GAS THEM TOO!" -Rush (oxycontin) Limbaugh, Nov. 3, 1988
Ah yes, right-wing conservatives, those who's ideals change with the eb and flow of personal intrest. The big flip-floppers. Hypcoracy defined
The current Republican Party and it's supporters (especially republican mouthpieces like Rush and O'Riley) is far more notorious for having double-standards than the democrats. Which is interesting to me since kerry was attacked as this huge flip-flopper during the elections. I do think more of Democrats, but only because I couldn't think any lower of Republicans thanks to this administration.
I used to respect conservatives as a group (I still respect individual conservatives, but it gets harder and harder every day) but it's ridiculous now that so many people can say so many ridiculous things and expect the news cycle to cleanse the truth from everyones minds, unfortunatly it does clear most.....
I think you and Sera are arguing about two different parts of this. Politicians of both parties "flip-flop," but it was indeed frustrating during the last election cycle to see one side define the other using a term that applies to both. Ideologically speaking, liberalism (as I see it) is more accepting of differing views and lifestyles than conservatism, so I see liberalism as tending to be less hypocritical.
President jr. has re-defined dishonesty and, along with his daddy, have been responsible for the deaths of over 1.5 million Iraqi's and 14,000 U.S. casualties. The government does not allow me to say what I would do if I met jr. face-to-face.
Sorry, just had to bring this topic back up again. This quotation isn't true. Next time you find something outrageous, look it up on Snopes. Source
