I don't like the new Gardenburger boxes. As you may remember, the old boxes were plastered with quotes and factoids in support of kindness to animals, environmental awareness, and vegetarianism. You can expect such sentiments at a health-food store, but such material was a real anomaly in the aisles of mainstream grocery stores. It's very possible this was many everyday shoppers' only exposure to this sort of information. Sadly, the boxes have been overhauled and just look like any other frozen food box, with no quotes or information. Instead, they're plastered with slogans about how Gardenburger products are "low carb". I'll still eat Gardenburger stuff, because most of their products are very good and, unlike similar products, most do not conatin eggs and milk. I am however a little disappointed with the company.
Yeah, that box scanned above is an old one. They've changed them, and took all of that information away. Here is a small picture of the new box. http://www.gardenburger.com/products/products-flamegrill.html
That whole carbs thing is the new trend... every package has that promoted on it... at least you are buying it because it's vegetarian, so that's the good thing.
It's what we call capitali$m. The low-carb fad is hot right now, and if you can sell more Gardenburgers that way, the idea is to go for it.
Yeah, at least they havn't gone as far as to add animal products in it to make it less carb.... Peace and Love, Dan
Yeah, at least they havn't gone as far as to replace some of the vegan ingredients with animal products in it to make it less carb.... Peace and Love, Dan
