i realize that they probably haven't announced it yet, but it just seems that everyone but me knows the answer to that! so if you do have an inkling of an idea, please state it. i've read through many of the threads trying to figure this out, to no avail. i assume it's somewhere in the southeast? thanks...
rainbows dont speak plain english, especially in regards to gathering locations. rumour has it that W.V. is where it might be. anyone who tells you more than that is lying
thought so. know lots of rainbows! they just give me hints! perhaps when i make my way to the gathering i'll stop being so blunt...until then...

That's because they don't know anymore than you do. Except for the scouts who know before everybody which sites are being considered.
Site info to be released 14 June. All accounts place site "within 50 miles" of holding camp below, the Spring Council site. If you have a canoe or kayak, bring it! Good whitewater a daytrip from site, even if you can't use your boat on site proper. From Elkins WV. Take 33/55 east for about 4 miles. Take a left onto old Route 33 and go 1.9 miles through 2 big stone pillars. You are now entering Monongahela National Forest. Make the 1st left towards Stuart and Bickle Knob on forest road 6. Go approximately 7.8 miles and cross a bridge over creek. There will be a camping area immediately on left before crossing bridge over Shavers River with info on additional camping. This location is not the site or the council area, just a meeting area with more information. The scouts do not expect to start counseling until the 1st and will not be present until the evening of the 28th (Saturday) at the earliest.
If you wish to avoid the Drunken Thugs at the bridge over the Shavers River, you can take County Rd 41(?) south out of Parsons. It becomes County Road/FSR 6 at the Randolph County line, to Little Black Fork Holding Camp/Council Site. Be advised that this is a very rough, narrow, twisty road, not suitable for busses or other large vehicles! Also, plans are being made to start parking upstream of Little Black Fork, between "Front Gate" and Elkins. Here's the topo of the Holding Camp, centered on Drunken Thug Camp. Peaceful Rainbow Camp 'bout a mile or so downstream on FSR 6. http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?lat=38.9825&lon=-79.73083
there's an airport in elkins, does it have like a small airline that flies in and out of it perchance?
from AGR: "I and <xxx> here at rainbow holding camp (editors note - in WV 4 miles east of Elkins) which the LEO's are breaking up because they claim 96 people here but I counted less than 60 but i am only a math teacher so it does not count. <XXX> & <xxx> are leaving to a secret place it looks like we are all on our own there is really no group spirit here. We will proberly go to another place also to avoid the LEO's & front gate movies. ---------- Bottom line its better to wait to the main camp opens rather than come to the holding area. The date I got from <XXX> & <xxx> is June 15th." Hawker
