Yeah, I was actually putting gas into my car just two days ago(it was night time, bugs like light) and looked on top of my car to see literally 100+ bugs laying around on my car and flying around above me. I started to freak out a bit, not knowing how I would even know if a big landed in my hair or not. No itchies yet, I pulled over and shook my head and my hair for a good few minutes just for safety measure.

To me though, and I'm a complete newbie, but I would buy yourself some sort of hat or tam?

just chill and enjoy them... if you get bugs then you get bugs theres no amazing cure to prevent them. just enjoy having your dreads while you got em rather than living in fear :) remember hair grows back time doesnt. :)

I don't like your philosophy Fleassy, wouldn't it devastate you if you had to cut your hair off? :)

I used to be super scared of that now I just don't care. When I walk home when it's starting to get dark and there are lots of bugs out sometimes they get caught in my frizz (hahaa) and I sometimes find silk worms in my hair from hiking in the woods. It's the time of year for all those little critters to start coming out.

mmm well i used to cruise on my Honda 250 SX 3 wheeler thru the everglades . spiders, red fire ants, bees, wasp nest, mosquitos the size of a 747 jumbo, i would run into giant spyder webs at night since i could not see them . the only thing i really hated was Horse flys not only are they agressive they bite the crap out of you and chase you. and second was fire ants they leave a nasty bite that takes several long days to heal. . but be carefull with ticks Lyme Disease .

Yes indeed it would be a painfull step... but it would be another step. Another page in the book of life. Its always hard to let go of things ... but if you learn that once you let go it leaves room for newer things.. then thats cool :)

Like i said.... hair grows back... time doesnt

I'm planting trees in the bush in Northern Canada right now and I find squashed bugs in my hair all the time, mostly mosquitoes....sometimes spiders...meh
lice though freak me out so bad...my partner got em at a gathering and chopped off ten year worth or beautiful dreads. I almost cried. Then i found out theres ways you can get rid of bugs. Unfortunatly there not super natural. Tea tree may help prevent lice...but if ya got em it doesn't really cut it. Ya gotta use rubbing alcohol and apple cider vinegar. Ew lice....I got em too, but my hair wasnt dreaded yet...it still toook forever to get rid of those nasty lil critters...oh so itchy...so very itchy...

ive heard of some crazy concoction of rubbing alcohol and cayenne pepper, some sort of homemade pepperspray almost that you let sit on your head and fume up under a plastic bag for 15-20 minutes and knocks everything out
