Taco Bell not only has one of the worst sanitary working conditions in the US but also refuses to voice out aginst the poor working conditions, poor wages, and lack of health care and other issues for its tomato pickers. " Furthermore, if Taco Bell were to voluntarily pay just 1 cent more per pound, and the growers would agree to pass that penny along to the picker, that one penny could almost double the picking piece rate overnight"

How can you tell the difference between someone who boycotts Taco Bell and someone who just thinks their food sucks?

Yea, their sanitary conditions are pretty bad, my friend who lived in Florida, he knew 2 people that worked there and one day they decided to shit in the ground meat, and used it to see if anyone noticed, apparently no one did.

As for the tomato pickers, I wouldn't be surprised is most of them were illegal immigrants anyways

I've Cracked Taco Hell's Taco Seasoning, and MILD sauce recipes. I make my OWN using FRESH, tomatoes, that I HOPE were picked by these same people.
I support them. IF called upon, I will divulge ONE of those recipes.

What difference does it make where she buys her tomatoes ? If she were to stop buying tomatoes what would it change? I will tell you what it would change. Nothing! On the other hand if a big corp like taco bell were to stop buying their tomatoes it could make a big difference.

Anyway, I have long since stopped eating at taco bell but, only in part because of the low wages of the tomato pickers.

Taco Bell pays their own workers like crap and they treat them even worse. Furthermore, sanitary conditions are quite disgusting. :( The only fast food chain with worse conditions is KFC.

The fruit question- He said that Taco Bell's tomato pickers were treated poorly, he did not say all tomato pickers are. Taco Bell most likely grows their own vegetables or owns a company that grows them. The point is, the tomato picker's are Taco Bell employees.

If everyone wanted to and had the ability to get an education, I'm sure everyone would. Meanwhile, if everyone had an education, everyone would have to pick their own tomatoes and everyone doesn't want to do that.
I really think that the tomato pickers should get more paid even though it isn't a top job. Someone has to do it, and as I said everyone doesn't want to get an education and everyone doesn't have the ability to get an education. It costs money to get a university education in most countries, and lots of people don'thave the cash for that.

  16. they more or less worked out taco bell..... they had a thing on frontline 3 or so weeks ago.....

Yeah but someone has to do the tomato picking. A lot of people don't want to pick their own tomatoes, and to pay the tomato pickers a bit more cash wouldn't cost anyone too much, considering the low amount of money they get paid now.

EDIT: Or if they've solved that problem, I mean what they did get paid for not so long ago.

Seeing as how most of the tomato pickers are in the US illegally anyway who cares about their working conditions and wages. They seem to be doing better here than in Mexico and Central America. Try Boycotting Oxygen so we'll be rid of your bitching.

Well if that is your position than you should still boycott taco bell! After all they are willfully hiring undocumented workers there by threatening our national security!

The tomato pickers are in sweatshop conditions. That's why it's a bad thing. People busting their ass so fat lazy fucks can drive through and buy a taco at 3 am for 99 cents. Chances are they hardly make 99 cents an hour.

Oh but since they're illegal aliens its seemingly ok to some people here. The fact is they are still humans, taco bell probably realizes they're illegal aliens and exploits their inability to complain about poor working conditions. Who said all of the tomatos come from the US anyways?
