I am really not sure what your point is. Feminists don't, for the most part, think womyn are "better" or just want to use men to "milk them for sperm." You've been reading some anti-female propaganda, if you think this is the basis of Feminism. What Feminism says, in short, is that womyn and men are equal. Equality doesn't mean "exactly the same" or "one is better than the other." Anyone who thinks womyn are "better than men" is not a Feminist, but a Sexist. The basis of the falsehood that Feminsts want to eliminate men from the planet is actually propaganda from the RIGHT wingers, who are anti-feminine and want people to fear womyn, especially in an equal state. The whole "feminsm causes women to leave their husbands, kill their children, become lesbians and practice witchcraft" propaganda machine. (Their interpretation of "witchcraft" of course, being the falsehood of it being Devil worship, not Wicca or other well established religions.) What these Right Wing Propagandists say scares people. Which is thier intention. Read some good into about womyn and there won't be the fear, my freind.
I know things will never be exactilly equal, atleast in a relationship. I read one site, the link in the feminists thread. I never said wemon wanted to remove men from the planet, I was just asking. The site did say it wanted to get rid of men which is portrays as belligerent and wemon as future leaders of the world. I was tired last night, so I guess your saying that site is BS? Then alot of the "feminists" on here are actually sexists. I wasn't judging anybody, just asking. What site would you recommend I read for info on feminist moral? The whole thing makes me want to kill myself. Especially when I am wrong- That really pisses me off, sorry.
In many asian countries men outnumber women because of inherent beliefs that it is better to have a son. Sons can provide for their parents in their old age - daughters generally go to live with their parents in law and provide for them, plus there is the dowry system which can get expensive. As a result of all this, the rate of abortion based on gender is higher in some Asian countries . In some hospitals there are an average of 115 male births for every 100 female. what is more, the rate of female infanticide is also higher then the rate of male infanticide. so anyway, what i'm trying to say is that the disproportionate number of males to females in some asian countries is because of social trends - it's not a refutation of what soulless was saying. p.s. btw, i'd say that feminism (to me anyway) is more about mutual respect between the sexes, not about one sex's dominance. But if you are intested in the (perils of) selective human breeding, you should try reading something like Brave New World by Aldous Huxley (sp?). It is kind of a dystopia, showing that although you can do something (like selective breeding) it doesn't necessarily mean you should.
Every once in a while a guy gets on here and says that we're sexist. Why? Because not every topic is about how fantastic each and every man is? Get some sleep. This is a forum for women to discuss what is important to them. I see a lot of discussions about disturbing aspects of our culture, about women's health, about things that are interesting to women. I see very little, if any, "All men suck" type of talk. I don't ever recall reading a call to violence against men, or a plot to remove men from the planet. If women's health and sexism in the mainstream culture aren't interesting to you, read something else. Nobody has attacked you. You are going to be alright. If what you perceive as women's anger about social injustice and sexism disturbs you, the best thing you can do is be a nice man. Not a kiss-ass. Not one of those guys who apologizes for being a guy. Just be a decent person. If you do that, I promise not to sign the petition that's been circulating to send all the men to Mars. (I'm kidding.)
I must have missed something, because I didn't see this particular site linked on this forum. Do you have a link, to both the site itself, and the thread it was on? Agreeing with Levi, I see very little "men suck" thread action here, either. There are some "Societies expectations for womyn suck." but that is not the same thing. Most of us here have little problem with men in general. Lizard, there is no reason on any of these responses for you to either leave the thread or kill yourself. Chill, OK? Let me see what I can find for you to read, if you are really interested. A lot of feminist writing can be taken the wrong way, if not interpreted right, and there is a lot of is I don't agree with. But, most of the womyn and men who post here are pretty knowlevgeble about Equality, and maybe sticking around and reading some of the posts, and also visiting the Men's Issues Forum would be a good idea. I read once that more males are born than females, but from there on have lower life spans. The residency of most nursing homes is disproportionatly female. But yes, I agree, you have some misguided views about feminism. We're not asking for the removal of all males from politics and such-we just want it to be more equal and balances.
