I went to a sporting goods store today to get some new camping supplies. The closest store to me was in this new shopping area they just built. I decided I would check it out, even though I knew it would be an expensive place. I was window shopping with my wife, when we walked past some clothing stores. I saw a bunch of tie dyed clothes and such, when it dawned on me. These children now days are paying quite a bit of money to buy the clothes I make at home, then they walk around saying that they are hippies. It is funny to me how many rich kids in the city I live by are yuppy/hippy, or as I like to call them Yippies. I really don't know where I am going with this, so I will stop now.

I thought a yuppie was like the business class of people in the early 90s, they were the college graduates.

The Patrick Swayze(sp?) on the movie Ghost was a yuppie.

    and I live in alabama.

Currently I live in Nebraska, but I am getting tired of this state. I think it is time to start looking for a change.

wannabe hippies. I customize my own clothes sometimes, too. most of these kids would freak out if a pair of scissors came within ten feet of a shirt.

a yuppie in loose terms is a young urban professional.

but i have some addons for it from my personal experience. in boston, they are the people who come and "take-over" family oriented neighborhoods. they buy triple deckers, which could hold 3 families and then make it into a condo, effectively eliminating 2 family households. they come in and think they can change the customs of that neighborhood, making up new nicknames for it and other things. they think we must cater to their needs. one of them tried getting my grandma to sell part of her yard so that he can build a parking spot. yea, that stopped after i had a "talk" with him. if anyone is gonna get a parking spot in the yard, its gonna be my family but that's not gonna happen because street parking is overloaded right now.

granted, not all yuppies are like this. but the majority of the ones moving into my neighborhood are.
