I hate to tell you this but you drank soy formula for a short time as a baby also. But you couldn't digest it any more than any of the other baby formulas they had back then. The only think you could keep down was whole cow's milk. You can't worry about what you did years ago. I still think that soy contains large amounts of phytoestrogens. They contain shemicals that act just like estrogen in the body. If they act like estrogen they could very well agrivate your already inbalanced system. But like everyone else has said, talk to a good nutritionist. Talk to the one at Greatest Grains. Or ask that acupunturist if he can refer you to someone. My doctor said to avoid soy because of the estrogen. So that's what I'm doing. However, I do still do more than I should of fast food. I'm gonna have to check out that site to see how bad my breakfast is every day. Kathi
Soy is highly oestrogenic. It is also toxic to brain tissues. Soy protein is an industrial byproduct, cheap waste product which they're trying to put in every kind of food. There's no known studies saying it's healthy and LOTS of evidence that it isn't.
Soy DOES contain phytoestrogens. However, they do not act like estrogen in the body. Compare: Oxygen (O2) and Ozone (O3). *almost* the same. But if you breathe one, you will be energized, and if you breathe the other, you will die. Simiarly, chemicals are like that. Just because phytoestrogen is derived from or similar to estrogen doesn't mean it will have similar effects, let alone the same effects. They won't. That's ridiculous, on this very same thread, I just showed that there ARE known studies saying it's healthy. And you can find them ALL over the web. http://www.bcm.edu/findings/vol3/is3/05mar_n3.htm http://www.heartlandfields.com/soy_health/cancer_3.html http://www.thesoydailyclub.com/Research/soygenistein08292003.asp There are THREE studies, just by doing a search on google for "soy study," which returned 1.8 million results. And, while you're at it, why don't you show me 3 links that say that soy isn't healthy?
