What is your favorite kind of dog? mutt's count too .. Do you own a dog? what type is it? I have three dogs, a great dane, a shih tzu, and a siberian husky. my all time favorite breed is the siberian husky.. they rock my socks.. and they also tend to bury them too.. :H
i love ger. shpard (have one) i think i'm going to get a samoyed in the next few mos. i like dobermans alot too...
_I love all dogs. Have had a Cocker Spaniel, Pomeranian & Lhasa apso, each one has been so unique that I wouldn't know which one to pick. I do know I would love to add a Pug & a Great Dane to my family.
I love them all of course, but I have a sort of extra special fondness for pitt bulls and bouvier des flanders. I had a bouvier when I was a child and my grandmother had one since the day I was born so I kind of grew up with them. Right now I've got my english setter.....had her for the last 9 years since she was a puppy. She is stubborn to the max! It's a characteristic of her breed, the females are especially stubborn.....and she's a female I love her stubborn ass~
Same here My rabbits are 'mutts', I like that they're one of a kind. Basically anything that isn't an annoying yappy little thing, or a huge scary guard dog is fine by me. Oh and puppies, in general. My parents are considering adopting a cocker spaniel, those seem very sweet.
Shih Tzu's are my favorite, but my experience with owning dogs is very limited. I love the fact that my little shih tzu doesn't bark much, doesn't shed (but needs to be brushed everyday), and has a sweet, loveable little temperament. I'd love to get a pug someday, and maybe a chihuahua. I really like little dogs! Has anyone heard much about Cavalier king charles spaniels, or English toy spaniels?
_All the cocker spaniels I've met are amazing, such sweet characters. My Bailey B. is adorable & ours was a love at first sight story.
All the English and american cockers I have ever known have been really hard to train... even basic comands like sit and stay, they seem to have difficulty with.. huh.. i dont prefur the breed ... I have seen a couple king charles spaniels around my area, they arnt too common... it is weird because they are considered a toy breed when the general spaniel is a sporting breed ... ??? androidette, think long and hard before adding a great dane to the family. I own one and she is alot of work. they chew everything (even as adults) and they have a really strong tail.. as you know they get HUGE and they have a very silly personality... they also tend to sit anywhere without looking to see who they are sitting on... i would be careful with smaller breeds around... The great dane tends to be very ruff while playing.. they dont know their own streigth.
_Really? Bailey B. of all the dogs I've had is the smartest one. He tends to be less independant thant my other babies, & secretly I love it. _But isn't all the hard work worth it? My friend loves her Great Dane & the dog is adorable. I understand what you mean though & would definitely take it into consideration.
Bulldogs of all shapes and sizes- alapaha blueblood (like my puppy!), English, French, American... all kinds. I've grown up with them always around my grandmother's and uncle's houses, and now my own. Also Great Danes. Every Great Dane I've come in contact with has had the sweetest disposition and has been extremely well behaved. My grandpa had one who died when I was 4 or 5, but up until then that was the ONLY dog my mom would leave my brother and I alone with. When I was a toddler she would let me sleep on her and would sit and let me pet her when we went to visit, even if she jumped and knocked my parents over. My boyfriend's family has lots of Great Danes too and he loves them to death.
androidette, I love great danes, they are a great family dog..... but the work never ends lol. Everyday she gets into somthing new...
Well I think my favorite kind is a Collie, but I don't own a dog now, though the one I use a have, was of mixed breed, he was a Dalmatian mixed with Collie, he was very very active and playful, he once broke down the door, in my kitchen leading to the outside of my apartment, hahahaha he was cute but nuuuuuuttttts.
I couldn't possibly choose my favorite kind of dog. I have 5 dogs. They are as follows: 1. German Shepard, Newfoundland, Choclate Lab Mix Named Elsa 2. Chocolate Lab Mix Named Arky 3. Retriever, Border Collie Mix Named Scruffy (We didn't name her but she'd had that name fo 9 years when we got her so we didn't want to change it) 4. Black Lab Named Hamish (He has Epilepsy) 5. Shi Tzu Named Theo
