Maryland Cat Torturer Gets Wrist Slapped

Last year, Steven Richard Schatz, 38, of 9701 Longview Dr., Ellicott City, was charged with felony cruelty to animals stemming from his alleged systematic April 2004 beatings and sodomy of his then-girlfriend's cat, Clyde. According to court records, Clyde was found suffering from blunt-force traumas on numerous occasions that month, including severe ocular hemorrhages, liver trauma, and seven broken ribs. Clyde's rectal muscles were also found to be flaccid, consistent with his having been sodomized. A digital recorder placed in his guardian's home later reportedly captured Clyde rhythmically screaming in obvious agony and Schatz yelling at the animal. Three months later, Clyde had to be euthanized because of his injuries.

On May 27, The Baltimore Sun reported that Schatz had been convicted of the charges and faced three years in prison.

Despite prosecutors' reported request that Schatz be given 18 months in jail, Judge Neil Axel instead apparently sent the felonious animal abuser to jail for just 90 days. Handcuffed and being led out of the courtroom, Schatz allegedly told the cat's guardian, "This is going to come back to you, in some way or form."

Please let Judge Axel hear from you. Inform him that further crimes are the rule rather than the exception among animal abusers and that this is especially true among so-called "zoophiles". Politely suggest that His Honor's decision may well have jeopardized the safety of the community at large and its animals.

I really have hard time beleving the sodomizeing a cat thing, thats got to be a made up charge, must be other explainations for the injuries. I meen cats can get pretty freekin meen when they want to be. the dude wold of been risking bleeding to death from the groin by doing that to a cat


and pleese a dont get me wrong, I still think the guy is a sick fuck. deversing of the full 18 months. Id say toss him in longer simply becasue he is threatening the owner of the cat. that 90 day sentance is BS

 

I say they should put people like that in jail for as long as they'd serve if they did that to a Human. In my opinion its no different except that the cat was a different species, but that shouldn't make any difference anyway.

The exam also showed that the animal had been sodomized during the abuse causing internal injuries. It is suspected that Schatz would wrap Clyde up the yellow and blue fleece shirt to protect himself from Clyde’s claws. Once the animal was secured Schatz would inflict abuse upon the animal by hitting him and sodomizing him. The tape recording of the abuse obtained by (his girlfriend) provided audio recorded evidence of the animal’s abuse with the voice of the suspect Steven Schatz and the screams of the animal being abused. This voice was identified and confirmed by Schatz to be his voice.”


Sick bastard!! So many people think you can do whatever you want since its only an animal. They infer that there is also stuff on the tape recording that backs up that evidence as well.
