on his front leg.....near his paw. It doesn't look too pretty.:( I've cleaned all the blood off but I was wondering whether or not I should treat it with neosporin? I'm afraid he will just lick it off anyway, but I could try. Or should I just leave it alone and let it heal on it's own? I don't have any antiseptic solution...neosporin is all I've got right now....and I've got no tape to apply a small bandage either.

whats about some isotorpol(sp?) alcohol? that way its at least disinfected.... then just let it heal by itself

Unfortunatley I don't have any of that in the house and someone has my car for the night so I'm unable to get to the store. I could pick some up tommorrow....I'll probably just do that and keep an eye on it. Thanks

edit: I've heard before that animals have something in their saliva which helps to heal their wounds when they lick them.....I dunno if that's just a load of crap though. Anyone heard that before?

Well at the moment my dog has a bad sore on his paw too. We brought him to tha vet and they said that if he keeps licking it so much then he would keep it from healing, so he has to wear a cone until it heals. I'd reccomend getting some tape and gauzeto wrap it up in so he doesn't lick it.

Thanks. I got some antiseptic solution for him and now it seems to be healing up very nicely.
