Hi all! I was wondering if anyone could tell me how many coffeeshops have vaporizers on hand to use. After 30 yrs. of smoking, my lungs have notified me that vaporization is the necessary mode of transport (as well as brownies, etc.). I did notice mention of a vaporizer at De Kuil in a post. Also, how important is it to book a room (for a single) during mid-September? I haven't been to Dam since '89, when rooms were no problem to find, but I know things have definitely changed. My preference would be to just wing it. Thanks!
More & more coffeeshops are offering vaporizers. All 21 coffeeshops that entered the High Times Cup in 2004 were given a Vulcano vaporizer. Rooms at the last minute in September could be had, but weekends tend to be busy.
I see you come from Hawaii, out of curiosity what is the weed like there as I'm sure it must be some of the best due to your fantastic climate.
I couldn't tell you ALL of the coffeeshops with a vaporizer, but I know for sure that The Dolphins near Leidschestraat has one.... a lot of them have one, just go in and ask... especially the better coffeeshops often have vaporizers.
dakajan Cheers for the PM, interesting stuff. Thanks for the replying to my question. Have a good one in Amsterdam as I'm sure you will.
If you're used to winging it on hotel accoms. you should be OK, but beware the IBC- International Broadcasting Convention is between the 8th and 13th this year. They're estimating 40,000 attendess from more than 100 countries. Every single room in town will be filled.
500K-750K extra people are in a-dam for queensday and i was able to reserve an apartment 6 weeks in advance........good tip about the convention Larry, but i don't honestly think 40K people will make that much of a dent in accomodation availability.
I understand your logic koopa. My hotel clerk said it was the 3rd busiest time in Amsterdam after #1 New Years and #2 Queen's Day.
i've found that may and september tend to be the greatest times to visit........if trying to balance cost vs weather. i did november and march (too cold rainy / snowy) for me. but hey, anytime in a-dam is a great one!
But a vast majority of the 500,000-750,000 people who come to Amsterdam for Queens Day come by train just for the day from other parts of the Netherlands.
