does anyone else completly love THE DOORS? i was listening to them and i completly go into this all time thinking mode about like everything thats going on with me, those of you who have AOL.. go to aol radio they have a full time station of the doors just to let you know! peace
Yeah, the doors are like my childhood. I've been listening to them my whole life. They are quite quite good.
the doors, its like i cant explain it, they are just so great and a really great time to listen to, my friends who arent into that kind of music, will even sit down and listen to them with me.
I only have their debut album, but I like most of the songs on it. The Crystal Ship is my favourite, and I love the forst few minutes of The End (the resto f the song is good too). BUT, I downloaded one of Jimi Hendrix's live albums the other week, and it was featuring Jim Morrison, and he really did ruin it for me. I cant stand his voice, unless its with the Doors, it sounds right when he sings with them. Kinda like Kurt Cobain, he cant sing but his voice sounds good with Nirvana.
The Doors, are far out... theres something more than the music for me, theres an indian, with peyote, with tibet, and ancient mayan kingdoms
The Doors are my very favorite band in the entire world and have been since I was a small child...I find when listening to The End or When the Musics Over the entire world falls into slow motion and you can truly consider life and it's many meanings...well I'm rambling now but it's just so hard to put it into words, loving something until you ach...being led into freedom.
Somethings cant be easily transferrable through words alone, and theyre a scale on the snake unveiling itself
What the hell do the Doors know about "ancient Mayan cultures"... I think that they were too stoned to realize the history inside the pyramids they were visiting. The Dorrs were just another flick of the 60s pop culture. They do have a couple of very good songs... but in general, especially lyric wise, I am not impressed. I am much more a fan of Morrisson's poetry than any Doors song.
BraveSirRubin, do you have a link to some of his poetry? I'd like to read some, it sounds intriguing!
Go and get "An American Prayer"... or use wonderful google: http://www.google.hn/search?q=jim+morrison+poetry&ie=UTF-8&hl=es&lr=
whered you download that from? iit sounds really kewl. yea the Doors kick ass. Morrisons poetry was beautiful and i still have to go out and buy the last book of his im missing. Theyre like my favorite band now, well one of them. whoever said that the crystal ship was their favorite song, I totally agree. That song is raw.
