what makes a hippy a hippy

I believe I'm a hippie even though I don't do the drugs and what not. People here say I'm not just because I don't do the things they do and then bash me for it....

If yer a hippy, you probably choose nonviolence over violence, organic over non, you are probably politically active, don't worry as much as non hippies about your appearance. You'll be more likely to try to help when someone is in trouble, more likely to give things away rather than make a profit. You'll probably like bright colors. You may actually seem to not age like the rest of the world. If you do drugs, you'll prefer pot and psycodelics over powders, pills and beer. You may be more interested in educating yourself than average, including various religions. You probably have a keen interest in the arts or music, and nature. You might feel as if the "status-quo" are sort of like aliens with some wierd mixed up ideas. And you probably feel as if you were born in the wrong time and place, as if this is some giant mistake .

hippies today, dont look much like hippies back in the 60's if i must say so myself... hippies back inthe 60's man, they dressed in THE most weirdest but awesomest stuff ever! today's hippies are more enviromental and wear like patch work and browns and earthy colors... and tye die of corrsee!! but its most deffanitly the fire that burns deep inside you that makes you a true hippy. Puting "Make Love Not War" as real life and willing to be who you are with out doubting urself, or what you stand for. Hippies should never be ashamed to walk around with headbands on ur forheads and all that crazy stuff we wear! be free! feel free!

 

No fucken way man, I thought all hippies smoked pot, dropped acid, and did shrooms.

aww hun, people who say stuff like that make themselves look like idiots >< you don't need to drugs or whatever to be a "hippie". Being a hippie comes from the heart, I think it's more like up to you if you're a hippie or not, no one else can decide that. ^.^ <3

Apolitical isn't the way to go... it's best to be more globally interested, IMO.

 

the term hippie is kind of a stupid thing anyways. its another way of labeling people who have a particular mindset. i prefer not to worry about what i do, and just do it. being yourself is the most important thing in life. people will be the ones to define you, but you dont need to define yourself....
