i've heard quotes in life such as "war is peace" "if u want peace u have to prepare for war." i'm not saying that war is good, but i do believe that it's sometimes necessary and i understand the meaning of some of these quotes. my beliefs are turning into a blur right now, so it's hard for me to explain the quotes. i'll have to do some research on them and post up about them. let me know ure opinion.
I would not be say 'war is peace' 1984esqu type shit..heard it said before etc ..yeah something to think about ..
You cannot simultaneously prevent and prepare for war -- Albert Einstein I am very much liberal. I do not like war. However, I am 100% for defending one's country. I will support any defensive war we have to fight to protect our citizen's home. I don't support the Iraq war because it was not a defensive war. We were not attacked, nor under threat of attack from Iraq. I did support military action against Al-Qaeda - the group that actually did attack us. But apparently Bush thought Iraq was more important...
I think that sometimes war is inevitable. But most of the time it isn't and it's just about expansion. I think war is terrible, and we should not romanticize or glorify it, but we should always remember to hope our best for the troops who are in the middle of it. It's difficult to remember, but we shouldn't think ourselves to be moral and couragous because in the past we stopped some terrible monsters, i.e. we stopped the nazis. When you think about it, it doesn't make sense to say that we are the good guys because we kill alot of the bad guys. Also, einstien was a brilliant mathematician, but that doesn't mean he was an expert on everything. Using him to justify some political statement is fallacious reasoning...
I was just adding a quote about war from a bright man to the few semi-quotes the OP posted. I didn't use him to justify any statement of mine, if you read my actual statement.
ww2...... that needed to happen, and tacitus was to have peace you must prepare for war I think....... tacitus was a general..... I'm not talking the beggining of ww2 btw or the atom boms or a great many other things, but hitler needed to be stopped once he started....
offense is only the best defense if you are prepared to completly destroy your foe, leave nothing left, that means leave no women or children to become insurgents, that means such absolute destruction that none will oppose you people oppose america because we fight proportionally, we show weakness people didn't oppose rome because when you attacked rome they sent eveerything at you, burned, raped and pillaged....... if you want the usaf to burn rape and pillage, go for it but with modern tech complete destruction is the only option then complete destruction of morale, a breaking of the souls of your foes was the only way pulling out cliche's so flippently without some sort of practical background, without understanding, respecting, or choosing the ramifications, is ridiculous.......
The Revolutionary LEFT has always believed in liberating themselves from the oppression of the Property Owners by any means necessary including war. This is why the LEFT is not truly revolutionary. Any man who ever obeys the orders of another man is merely expressing, like any Property Owner, the submissive latent homo-sexuality of the Civilized. The LEFT are merely reformists. They don't want to be fucked in the ass by Property Owners, but they still WANT to be fucked in the ass. Symbolically speaking. Imagine a world of real men. Men who never bend-over in obedience to other men. Men who never learned how to suck the cock of obedience in boot-camp. Men who never wear a fuck-me-hard military uniform. Does that sound like our world?
Yes, a (true) leftist can, and will support war. But not an imperialist war, like the one we've seen in Iraq. No, we're talking about class war. A war between the exploiter and the exploited. Between the workers and the bourgeois.A war between the rich and poor. A leftist who support imperialist wars, is not a leftist. He belong on the bourgeois left, and he has little to do with leftism. A rule of thumb is that a war created by liberating the exploited is a good war, and a bad war is one that support the hegemony of the exploiters. Naturally, we will support any war that is a "good war" (not that any war is "good". I think 'neccesary' is the proper word). We might call it a progressive war.
Sometimes war is necessary. WWII was a necessary war in my mind. Korea maybe, Vietnam hell no, and the war now big NO on that. We should only go to war to defend our land or to defend the land of others. Not to prove a point that we have power and can use it.
