I was involved in an accident about 2 weeks ago. Another vehicle rear ended me while I was stopped waiting on a car to turn. Anyway, this vehicle was going at least 40mph when it ran into my car. I had neck & back injuries & was ambulanced to the ER just to get tons of x-rays and was given 3 perscriptions for back & neck pain. I seriously, thought I hit my head on the steering wheel, but the ER docs said that was impossible if I had my seat belt on. Alot of people keep telling me to get an attorney for a personal injury case. I just want to feel better. Currently, I'm getting chiropractic therapy for my injuries, but it doesn't seem like it is working. So, my question is, does chiropractic therapy really work?
Yes, chiropractic therapy works, but you might need something else. What concerns me most about your post is the fact that the doctors didn't listen to you. They weren't in the accident; they can't know for a fact that you didn't hit your head on the steering wheel. Seatbelts are great but even they aren't reliable 100% of the time. It really pisses me off to hear that they just sent you home with some painkillers.
I think that chiropractic work is only necessary when tramatic injury has occured. I also think that ongoing chiropractic work is complete crap. They lead you to believe that the human body is frail and easily disaligned, but that just isn't true. Most people I know who go get treatment do it on a regular basis, about twice a month. How could you possibly screw up the alignment of your body in two weeks? The human body is resilient and most often self-healing. In your case though, I'm not sure exactly what your injuries were... just be aware of when you start to feel better and be firm in not continuing treatment (unless that's your thing). Depending on your condition, you could try some light yoga. Honestly, you get the same bending and stretching, but it isn't as bad for you. ...which reminds me of another thing. All that popping and cracking is so horrible for your bones. And actually, for people who go to chiropracters for an extended period of time, disalignment is probably more likely. Even though it takes a while to actually wear your bones down, even just a little wear can cause big problems... like cracking your knuckles.
0h I can do that in 1/10 of second, so two weeks isnt that hard belive. I'll say striaght up though ,some chiroprators just do a shit job. took me 6 chiroprators to find one that does good job. i drive an hour just see the guy in my experince the best chiopractors have medical & physiotherapy trianing. also some chiropractor seem to try and get as many patients in & out as fast they can, and dont take their time. where as the better ones loosen you up before doing adjustments, and they just do an overal better job. I walked out on one chiropractor mid session, the guy started pulling magnets and wierd shit. you gotta use your intincts, if something just donst seem right it probably isnt. oh imortal, thoes arnt your bones popping. thenoise is a realeas of co2 from betwen the joints, a chiropractor dosnt need to make you pop or crack to do an adjustment.
