_She was one of the voices in the movie 'Robots' & also did a TV movie called 'Their Eyes Were Watching God', one of the executive producers of that movie was Oprah.

I personally don't think she can act. She got an Academy Award for a single temper tantrum in a Billy Bob Thornton movie, she is a pretty lady, but far from being a good actress.

    Catwoman......shudder..........

Well there was a massive gap between the Flintstones and the Xmen that could do with some explication.

By the way Ms Sugar, I take it you didn't jump on the Johnny Depp/Orlando Bloom/Entire Lord of the Rings Cast (delete as applicable) bandwagons claiming what 'great actors' they were. Ok, Depp isn't bad but he's ruined it a bit with his attempts to take on Gene Wilder's mantle as Willy Wonka. His best film has got to be Nightmare on Elm Street (only joking).

  9. I'm sorry, but we haven't had a truly spectacular actor making movies in 20 years......

We haven't had a truely spectacular movie come out in 20 years. Probably longer.

This including the LOTR and the Harry Potter movies, all of which I actually am a fan of. They were fun, but not amazing movies.

_What do you consider amazing movies? Because I've seen what I consider amazing movies in the past 20 years.

Oh come on! If LOTR and Harry Potter are your ideas of films that almost but just aren't quite spectacular then there must be some truly amazing, nay, awesome, films out there.

Off the top of my head, let's see...

Brazil, A Fish Called Wanda, The Terminator, Beetlejuice, Pulp Fiction, Gladiator, Le Pacte des Loups, Shaun of the Dead, etc. all truly brilliant films in their own way, and would wipe the floor with adaptations of children's books.

I didn't say they were my idea of almost spectacular movies. I mentioned because they are very, very popular movies that came out somewhat recently, but still weren't great movies. But, see, if you actually read my post, you would note that I said they were fun, but not amazing movies.

Fish Called Wanda was brilliant, but I'm not surprsised if a yank didn't get it. Why did you mention Harry Potter and LOTR, then if not to suggest that people think they're amazing? We all know they're not.
