I don't see what's such a great movie about it.... it's okay to watch when bored and it's on but I wouldn't call it a great movie...
I used to think the exact same....actually I have thought the same about other movies and life in general..it's almost depressing,no matter how unrealistic.
life is all about perspective, and if you want it to be, you can make your life to be like a movie just be the aggressor
How so? lol...now,you've gotten me curious. I'm not so sure I could do anything to make my life "movie like". But it's an interesting thought though.
well you would have to be the one making shit happen, there aren't enough aggressors, that's why so many people have boring and depressed lives
Ya know,I do agree with that, absolutely. You have to make things happen. That's true. I wish I was more aggressive....I can be aggressive, but it's usually the wrong time and place lol...usually comes out of anger. Instead of coming from be driven to achieve something I want.
It's because people spend too much time on TV, Movies, and even, yes, my beloved internet. We're passive. And I hear that watching violence on TV/Movies doesn't cause violence, it actually does the opposite, makes people insecure and unsure of themselves. I know when you say agressor you don't me agression, you mean action, but I'm just saying, being insecure and unsure of yourself will make you more passive.
One of the greatest movies made. Too bad school isn't like that. I totally agree that more people have to do shit, and stop being soo passive. Just like me and my friends, we can never find anything to do. Probably because we allways expect something to happen and not make it happen.
Yeah,I can understand all of that...I don't feel insecure really, but the unsure part is definitely true. You know, when you are thinking of doing something significant and you start second guessing yourself...well,that's what I do. I second guess myself. Bad,bad habit...you'll never get anywhere unless you take that first step.
I love this movie! Slater is a classic. I love the part where he and Pink are going into Kevins house and Slater steps on the garden, almost tripping. It's little things like that that I love. Real humour and issues that I can relate too. "George Washington was in a cult, and the cult was into aliens, man." "Behind every good man there is a woman, and that woman was Martha Washington, man, and everyday George would come home, she would have a big fat bowl waiting for him, man, when he come in the door, man, she was a hip, hip, hip lady, man." "Did you ever look at a dollar bill, man? There's some spooky shit goin' on there. And it's green too!" "Imagine how many people out there are fuckin' right now man, just goin' at it" Slater: "You cool man?" Mitch: "Like how?" Slater: [rolling his eyes as he walks away] "OK." Pink: "He was asking if you get high." You might not find that one funny if you haven't seen it. The expression and tone Slater uses when he says 'ok' and rolls his eyes is priceless. Same with this part- O'Bannion: Hey Slater, you fuckin' hippie, give me drugs, man. Slater: Go get some from your mother, man. O'Bannion: We just bagged your mother. Slater: Okay, fuck you dickhead.
I watch it all the time. I love SLATER! Highschool sucks for me. i live in walmartville, basically just call it tennessee. Nobody has fun around here.
This movie is great to watch when i'm depressed, cheers me right up. One thing I always realise is how Mitch touches his nose all the time, and how Pink's belt buckle is a pipe.
