How many of you are part of a pro-cannabis organization(or just help them out with either time or donations)? May it be NORML or another simmilar group.

I fully support NORML and Change the Climate, Inc. but since I'm living with my parents I haven't been able to donate. I told my parents I wanted to send money and they both flipped out, but as soon as I can get around them I'll be sending a generous donation.

Does NORML accept cash as donations? I suppose you could mail them a few bucks.

Ok... those organizations have been around for a long time, if not those, then others... Marijuana is still ILLEGAL to this day... you are wasting time and money, but if it's what you savvy, go for it by all means... Im just letting you guys know that it doesnt do anything but yet again keep bringing up the idea of making marijuana legal, which wont happen... (see my thread: Why Marijuana is Illegal)

    Thanks! Reefer!

In the past people were able to make changes. Remember, since the days if the Founding Fathers of America many people fought long and hard to get their rights to vote. In the 1960's people worked hard to change things that bothered them ranging from the war to different human rights movements.

While marijuana will remain illegal for a very long while, one has to look on the larger scale. In the past few years issues regarding medical marijuana have been popping up. Some cities across the United States have been trying to decriminalize marijuana.

The fact that marijuana related issues are being brought up indicate that something is moving on forward. Remember any battle takes form in the concept of one step forward, two steps back. While the general attitude towards marijuana is very strict, as it remains the number one substance fought against, the fact that more and more people are supporting medical marijuana is a very important factor to consider.

Before even thinking about legalization, one has to agree upon decriminalization. It is a lot harder to make something illegal legal then something legal illegal. Not a lot of changes might be visible, however to say that nothing is happening misses out on the changes which are happening. As with dealing with anything, one has to remember that changes do not happen overnight.
