This year I think I want to make strawberry wine or dandelion wine from my mom and gramma for Christmas. I am looking for a good recipe now but I think they wold really really appreciate something different than hand made soaps since that is what I give them for birthdays and mothers day HAHAHA

I am also going to start on some patchy clothes for my dads girlfriend and her daughter =) cuz his girlfriend was asking for silky patchy pants at Smilefest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am also hoping to set up shop at the holly day fair this year which I will need a shitload of clothes to take to that with me, nothin but a bunch of artsy old rich ladies [IMG]

How early do you guys start crafting for Christmas??

I love making Christmas gifts. Last Christmas I made whole grain pancake mixes in mason jars as well as cinnamon maple syrup to top them off with. I used fabric to cover the tops of the lids, and tied them with matching ribbons. I also made homemade hot cocoa mixes. Everyone raved over those gifts because they were unique, they came from the heart.

I usually don't start making my Christmas gifts until around late November through mid December. I'm a last minute kind of girl, but I work better under pressure. :)

it depends on what I am making and for whom I am making it for. Some things can't be made all that far ahead, where as other stuff will keep for months. I usually start the knit/crochet things in September. Painted things are usually started in September too. Smelly things, like potpouri (sp) dolls I make in December. Baked good in the middle of december... like shortbread cookies.... mmmm... shortbread.
