Been working long ? Had any fun jobs ? Done anything dull ? My first job ever was typing soap opera scripts in New York onto mimeograph stencils, then mimeographing them, collating, stapling and delivering. Even got to meet some of the stars Boring? Typing invoice with carbon paper to companies in South America that were purchasing automotive replacement parts. Does it get any worse ?
sitting at a machine that made pads of paper, replacing the vacuum that sucked up the scraps that were trimmed off. i sat beside the thing for 8 hours, throwing paper into a bin. i refused to do that the 2nd day.
Either coding consumer surveys while I was in high school or working in a nursery one summer, started out pretty nicely while it was busy, but when late summer came it was completely dead and I had to split chunks of trees into firewood for at least a month straight...ended up making a pile maybe 30 feet long and 20 feet high
Working at T.J Maxx/Homegoods. God I hate that place. If I'm not folding towels I'm cleaning up after ignorant assholes. The most exciting thing that ever happens is a customer will idioticly try to purchase an item that has no price tag. Then I get to do a price check, Oh boy!
i worked for the Aquarium in Boston one summer. i was a Promotions Assistant. yea, all i did was hand out coupons for the Aquarium. i even got accused of throwing the coupons in the trash to finish faster. i hated that job.
Working as a supermarket cashier years ago. I got these nasty fat women with a shopping trolley full of reduced products I had to peel off the reduce stickers that covered every barcode with a queue of people waiting with their shopping trollys too. I felt like I had done a 9 hour shift before lunch time... I had a mid day crisis every day of the week.
well to be honest,, had the same job for so long ive forgot if ive ever worked a "boring" one,,. repetative?? same shit diffrent day,,,so boring,, naaaa cant think of one,,...
Having skechy redneck girls all over you and trying to park old fords with busted starters all day is not my idea of fun.
Working at Ace Hardware. I moved fertilizer from the backroom to the storage. I moved fertilizer from storage to the shelves. I carried fertilizer to old people's cars. The only real human contact was my boss telling me what to do, and people telling me their car is on the other side of the lot.
folding 1000+ leaflets in a certain way, putting them in the envelope a cetain way, putting on stamps, putting them in a box.
I haven't had really shitty jobs. But, the job I'm working now, I don't like the manager. The job itself (craft store!) is a lot of fun, everyone's so nice, but the manager is just a real nutbar to work for!
my job now is semi boring..but i like it though, its just pretty tedious..but its still a really good job.. But when i worked retail when i was younger, that sucked more than anything in the world..it was boring and just plain horrible... my favorite job was when i worked at the daycare...that was a great job...
